Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good yaoi (or yuri) manga that have either Stockholm syndrome and/or lima syndrome as part of the plot in them (it doesn't have to be a textbook case of Stockholm syndrome, just have elements of it).

I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

~ Ace.

There's a categories for both of those. You should check those out first.
Stockholm Syndrome
Lima Syndrome
To narrow down to yaoi or yuri, use the advance search.

Thanks for the help. I've browsed through that list before and picked out a few of highly rated ones (Finder, Ai no Kusabi, Black Sun Doreiou, Totally Captivated, Tatoe Toraware no Koi demo and Okane Ga Nai) which have been very good, but there are so many of them it'd take ages to check them all out.

So I was just wondering if anyone here had any other personal favourites that they'd recommend?

I'm like you, sometimes just searching for a category can become a long process - especially if there are a LOT of series listed under the category. Here are a few of my personal favorites that contain Stockholm Syndrome...

~Cage - This is a oneshot AND contains incest (but incest is a weird fantasy of mine in Yaoi so - if you don't mind Incest you should give this one a shot ^.^)
~Wakadanna ni Goyoujin - really cute story with great art
~Giglio - I haven't read this one yet (it is on my wish list) but I have seen it recommended many times on here.
~Hidoku Shinaide - This is a collection of oneshots and all of the stories are pretty good
~Ousama Game - 3 different stories about princes and their lovers
~Sasayaku no wa Sono Yubi - the Main story, Mitasareru Kuchibiru is really good as well!

Other than those, the only other ones are the ones you have already mentioned (all the popular ones)
Good Luck in finding more recommendations! biggrin

I agree that choosing titles from a list can be hit or miss. Here are some that I can recommend.

Akutai wa Toiki to Mazariau, sequel is Akutai wa Ude no Naka de Futatabi
Unbalance na Netsu
Jinsei wa Barairo Da - not held captive, but sort-of blackmailed
Te o Tsunaide, Sora o, chapter 11, probably the weakest story in the collection, but check out the others - Miyamoto-sensei is always good.
Ousama Game - I generally like TAKAGI Ryo, though the art can be weirdly non-proportional.
Giglio - heartbreaking, but what you want.
Arienai Futari, chapter 4, "Captive"
Mori no Koe - haven't read this yet, but it's NAONO Bohra, so it's a good bet. A couple by her that I have read, that fit the request:
Yokubou Shounen, chapter 3 "Love Snatcher"
Hada no Ue no Renai Jijou, chapter 6 "Yurusareta Uta"

Thanks a lot for the recs, xXGazeChicXx. I don't mind incest at all, participially sibling incest (which is what Cage appears to be) so I'll check that out.

I'll definitely check the others out too.

@scarletrhodelia
Thanks so much for all the recs, scarletrhodelia! It's much appreciated! biggrin

This has given me a lot to check out, and just in time for the weekend too, so I'll have plenty of time to indulge in all of these recommendations.

There's only 60 titles... that's not a lot IMHO. If anything, I wish there was more, since I read all the completed ones. Therefore, it wouldn't take you ages to get through them if you really wanted to read more of the same. Eventually you'll probably read them all and be like me with nothing to read sad

You're probably right, it's a shame that Stockholm syndrome doesn't seem to be a common trope, I was kind of expecting it to be used more frequently in manga, and be more popular, but apparently not. I'm just going to have to pace myself to try and space out my reading of them so they last for as long as possible! Here's hoping that some great new manga that feature Stockholm syndrome will get released in the near future!
