My shot here was a joke ;P.
Just finished Thud! by Terry Paratchett. It was one from the Ankh-Morpork watch line. Good too. Done his stuff since go for him.

Ancient Sci-Fi some it is so timeless. Like John Carter of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs, one unbelievable series. One must read, if you have the time. This was one of those that SF writers of today were inspired from.

Books, I read and LOVE:

Twilight (Stepehenie Meyer)
New Moon (Stephenie Meyer)
teach me (R.A. Nelson)
Tales of the Otori- Book 1: Across the Nightingale Floor (Lian Hearn)
Tales of the Otori. Book 2: Grass for His Pillow (lian Hearn)
Doing It (Melvin Burgess)
Umibe No Kafuka (Murakami Haruhiki)
Memoirs Of a Geisha (Arthur Golden)
Luna (Julie Anne Peters)
Harry Potter Trilogy (Joanne K. Rowling)

I've read really many books, but these are my favourites. Does anybody know one of them (exept Harry Potter)?

I've read the Twilight series (and Eclipse, part three, comes out August 7th, yay!) and Memoirs of a Geisha. Almost everyone around here can tell you how devoted I am to Harry Potter, I don't think I need to say I've read that series.

Haven't finished a couple of books. i've started a new book called Academ's Fury by Jim Butcher (that's the second and final book to his Furies series). I also read and finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.... to me, it was a bit anti-climatic at the end. Also, books by R.A. Salvatore, Patricia Briggs, James Clemens, and James Patterson.

R.A. Salvatore, R.A. Salvatore.... *beats head against wall* Oh! Okay, I remember now. I've got some of his books, he's not bad at all.

Most of them, I think. I'm wanting to say I've read eight, but I'm not terribly sure.

I read a lot of books, it just depends on if the book sounds interesting or not

I like reimagined fairytales. I'm not sure if that's quite the right way to say it, but... oh, well.

I really like the dark tower series
or anything by stephen king in general

but the "classic's" that they teach in schools like romeo and julliet and such, are ok too.
i liked tears of a tiger and to kill a mockingbird the most

A dream of red mansions/The story of the stone (Hong Lou Meng) is the best book I ever read. I do own several translations and an untranslated Chinese comic version.

Other books I like a lot and recommend (just some titles, I enjoy a lot of books):
Freedom and necessety (Steven Burst)
The sorrow of war (Bao Ninh)
Der Richter und sein Henker (Friedrich Durrenmatt)
Kitchen (Banana Yoshimoto)
The lord of the Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien)
The price of glory (Alistair Horne)
The iron dragons daughter (Michael Swanwick)
Strega (Andrew Vachss)

I like to read. Would you asume that whoever reads manga doesn't read books? laugh
Funny that many of my favorite books I've read in the 5th and 6th grade (in their original form)..

My favorites

The Three Musketeers (and all other alexandre dumas's books.)
Madam
War and Peace
The Master and Margarita (not sure how it's wrriten in wnglish..)
The birth of venus
Marie Antoinette

That's all I can come up with for now (I have a cold, and when I do I tend to be very forgetable...^^;)

i like to read, and used to read a lot, but not reading much lately. I like science-fiction in general, i´m usually forgetful when it comes to remember titles and authors (lol, i read them quickly). Well, in general i like literature, and read whatever falls in my hands unless it´s really really boring (the hardest book to finish reading until now has been "El Quijote".)
Had read and liked
Dune
Lord of the Rings
Poe´s short stories
etc.

I enjoy reading quite a bit, although I don't have a genre I spend most of my time within. Right now I'm rereading one of my all time favorites: "Gravity's Rainbow" by Thomas Pynchon.
