Sasuke is surrounded by a bunch of girls that like him. Is that enough to be considered a harem? just wondering.

I don't think so, I mean although that's true that's not really the main focus of the story it's just an aspect. Just like Naruto isn't really considered a Romance although it does hint at it sometimes.

i dont thibnk so because in all of that genre the boy realizes the love and affection of the girls and has to chose which one he likes. saskue is obviously not in that position considering he left the village to seek power. he couldnt give a rats ass about the girls. saskue quest reminds of kurapica from hunterXhunter. played out. what is he going to do after he fulfills his goal? jerk off for the rest of his life?

no, it can't. neither naruto or bleach are really harem, because although i dont know much about the genre im thinking 2(or less) actually love intrests does not equal harem. biggrin

How can you say that. He said himself the he would restore his clan. If he kill shis brother and Madara the only one left to start is him.

first of all im not saying bleach is a harem im just saying that bleach has a bit more distinct qaulities of a harem then naruto. but tito does set it up so that it kinda looks like ichigo is liked by Orihime Rukia and Nell. but again bleach or naruto is nowhere near being a harem

I'd say no, theres not really enough romantic (or even friendly) interaction between a group of girls and a guy or vise-versa. There is mentions of it with the fanclub and all but that is more like a running gag

... Eh, no. Sasuke isn't even the main character. >_>

And don't act smart and say that with the latest chapters 'Naruto' should switch to 'Sasuke'. laugh

No.. I don't think so..
Harem in manga (if I'm no mistaken) revolves more about romance, Naruto isn't a romanca manga.. the girls do like Sasuke, but he doesn't like them back and there isn't really much conection to the story with girls liking him...

Quote from Wikipedia
Harem is a term used to describe Japanese works wherein a single average male character is surrounded by numerous (usually 3 to 7)[1] attractive females, most of whom are romantically interested in the main character.

More than 1 main male character, not enough females interested in the main male character = NOT A HAREM.

But seriously stop trying to classify everything as a harem, I mean it is technically not a true genre but a sub-genre.
