Anyways, they escaped into a school and was requested by the principle to become a school teacher. Reason for that is the original Todai graduate who was supposed to be hired, ran away last minute starting a fire at the school. The reward for that is checks, value written in by the students, cause he said something like a swindler don't work on fixed pays or something to the principle. The heroine is a female teacher who's a bit of an airhead, and I think is related to the principle, not sure. The series ended with the students finding out his identity, but tried to help him run away. In the end he still went to jail but escaped again in the sequel. I think it's called High School Hen or something, can't remember. I believe both are already completed, not completely sure about sequel. Also, I think there's a drama adaption, but again, can't be sure. I only read the manga.
Anyways, I looked in the recommendations for GTO and Gokusen, but either I overlooked it, or it's not in there even being so similar.
