This chapter just goes to show....never mess with predictions about the future. If some credible source(like someone from the future...) tells you that something will happen, it will happen no matter what. The more you try to stop it(the eclipse) the more you will be e one who causes it. It's gonna happen no matter what so it's just whether you take part in it or not. (Actually the start of that event is probably the fact that someone came from the future to tell you in the first place, thereby creating their own future. It makes sense if you think about it. Underlying point, you can't change to eventual outcome of the future, just the way that outcome is approached. I think mashima did an amazing job showing this fact. Good job.

Oh and did anyone actually predict this to happen? It makes sense but not many people actually predicted it. I knew lucy would eventually close it for some reason but i didn't know why though...

I had a feeling last chapter that something like this would happen (it was one of a few possibilities, including the dragons being a lie). It seemed odd that 10000 dragons were supposed to show up in the Capital that day but no one in the rest of the country had seen them coming.

i got a feeling that Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy(1st gen Dragon Slayer) are really from the pass, where their dragon hasn't gone missing but they didn't come to the future. this is why when Natsu and Gajell can't get pass barrier back when they are fighting Laxus, in a way they are "old". and since when they were so young when they get send to the future they don't really know the time and date. and since lucy's mom die on 777 could mean that she's the one who open the gate. 14 years later when when Hades use that spell that got Zeref so mad, could be one of the way to open a gate way to the pass(weaker version) that's where Sting and Rogue's white and shadow dragon came by and where they get become the 3rd gen dragon slayer. also from back when they're talking about Acnologia was a human it looks like that's Natsu with horn just like how he dress at the end of the Edolas act. so he could have went back in time later on. also i got a feeling that rogue want to open the gate for all the dragons is because he want to be the next one who can turn into a dragon by taken their power

I can see the time travel with Natsu and Gajeel but I don't think Windy was there for the old spell (she is too young in appearance compared to the other two to have come from the same time.) Hiroshima has a precedent of using time travel to explain huge moments in his work and I would not be surprised if at least the first part of this prediction came true.

The Rogue stuff seems a little bit of a stretch but still plausible.

If it was not for Sting and Rogue, I would suggest that Natsu and co are actually dragons turned human or part dragon or something like that, but that would ruin everything in my opinion.
