Like the topic states, I'm looking for extremely sad music. It can be because of the lyrics, melody, rhythm, or even the music video. Looking forward to seeing response! smile

Mine is Tong Hua - Guang liang. Such a beautifully sad song.
But my favorite by far and the saddest yet most amazing ever is Secret Base - Zone.

I'd like to add some more to that list though

There are a couple I think of whenever someone mentions sad music videos:
To Build a Home - Cinematic Orchestra
Sometimes - Les Rythmes Digitales

Two songs to tug at your heartstrings - and an album to stir up your emotions.

Warszawo Ma:
Got to know this one through MU (thanks chrum!). I don't understand Polish but I know that she sings about what happened to the Polish in Warshaw under the Nazis' oppression.

Tori Amos - Winter (From "Live At Montreux 91/92")
It might be sentimental but it makes me feel like crying whenever I think about my own father's future death.

Glen Hansard: Rhythm and Repose (album)
Opening with You Will Become, Glen Hansard's first solo album is fulled with the tension of melancholic, yet hopeful insights. Left a deep impression on me.

Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata"
performed by Arthur Rubinstein . Especially after seeing Gus van Sant's "Elephant" it creeps me out and makes me want to cry at the same time.

Elliott Smith Between the Bars , but i could write about almost any of his songs (like "Angeles", "Going Nowhere", "Last Call" ), they are so deep and meaningful, and sad at the same time.

Mad Season "Wake up" . The vocalist (Layne Staley from Alice in Chains) at that time fought with drug addiction. Died from an overdose a couple of years later.

Joan Baez Cambodia an anti-war protest song. The lyrics are heartwreching, and she has one of the best voices i've heard.

Hey "Moja i twoja nadzieja" i really don't know why. Maybe it's the lyrics (it translates to "Mine and your hope", sorry again in polish), maybe it's because during the flood in 97 (when i was a kid) you could hear it playing in the radio, maybe it's the music..And maybe because the performance from Przystanek Woodstock/ Woodstock Haltestelle is just great.. (thought there it doesn't sound sad)

@Tripitaka I'm glad that you liked it. It means a lot to me.
