Character type 1:

A motherly character that has a very scary temper can be either a side character or a main character.
a good example of what i'm looking for is Chizu-nee from Sensei Negima.

Character type 2:

A main character that seems like a complete dunce but is actually really good at fighting(could be something other than fighting too).
like Bouya Harumichi from Crows.

please no shoujo or josei

Character 2:
Rurouni Kenshin maybe not a "dunce" but he behaves like a weak, cowardly wanderer.
