Many times I'll discover a manga that I really liked, whether the art or the story, or both - and consequently I want to find something similar it. That's where the category recommendations, genres, and tags can help (somewhat).

More importantly, I'll find a mangaka who's work I really like. I would like to suggest having 2 new sections on a mangaka's page:

● one for similar artists, like IKEMI Runa and TAKARAI Rihito

● one for similar authors, like TAKAGI Shigeyoshi and ANDO Yuki

Obviously, "similar artists" is pretty obvious, while "similar authors" is more subjective. I think the similar authors might take some planning, so perhaps it won't be possible to do right away, but I would love to see the similar artists implemented if possible.
