Germanys military is in the shifter too. And our old folks homes also because the government did away the compulsory military service and that was the alternative. Oh well. Maybe Poland will get us next time. (' laugh ') One dude committed suicide at the gun-range so yes that can happen but you will have to clean the guns so often that an accident is nearly impossible. And a guy in my squad (he was a contractor of 4 years+) died in Afghanistan shortly after i moved on. It was on the news and the whole barrack had to go to the funeral. And have fun guarding the barracks at night. A 36 hour shift you all with maybe 4 hours of sleep somewhere in there. I did that like 10 times during my career because my real post was so sweet that i couldn´t say no and i never had to go to exercises outside my barracks after the first one. These last 1/2 weeks and are horrible. And you will meet lost of people who blow all their pay in the middle of the month on whores and gambling. Stay away from them at all cost. These kind of people will only drag you down in life !

"Warsaw will be your capital!" //Hetalia
And well, not really, since we have no compulsory military training here either, it's been canceled about 2 years ago, every male has to attend medical examination and gets a category (fit, unfit, handicapped etc.), but that's all. I'm not sure, but among women only the ones studying medicine and communication have to attend checkups. Being a female studying something militarily useless I never really paid mind to that.

Well..."attended" as in I sat there and watched my sister lead her battalion of cadets...was really awkward... She's Army ROTC ^^.

sidenote:
Hooah! To anyone in the Army
Oorah! To anyone in the Marines
Hooyah! To anyone in the Navy
...Does the US Air Force even have a battle cry?

Maaaaaaannnnnn......
My military training starts tomorrow....

I'll miss everyone and everything that I've been doing all this time..

Well,, I sure do hope that they'll allow us the use Cp there ( so I can still browse forums and chat with friends),
The chances aren't that low, considering that I have a friend in Singapore(not my country btw)
That can still chat with me at times, he started earlier than me.. eyes

Helleww there! I'm a military officer IRL biggrin

Spent my whole life as a nerdy otaku before I RANDOMLY decided to join the military. Word of advice, the toughest thing that you have to deal with IS NOT the PHYSICAL EXERCISE, it's THE LACK OF SLEEP and CONSTANTLY trying to stay awake eventhough your body tells you to sleep.

and the BEST thing about military training is the bond that you share with the people who does the training with you.. you'll spend a great deal of time together and your relationship with them will be as close as familial bonds..I can't describe it laugh

What age did you guys attend it??

24

When you were about to enter Military, were you guys in a relationship, and what happened??
I wasnt in a relationship with anyone but some of my buddies had relationship problems during training.

roll eyes

When you did your time, was there any accident about faulty guns or something??

There are always risks. Faulty guns, throwing grenades or anything with weapons always pose risks. But you'll be taken good of by professional instructors as long as you follow the safety procedure.

And don't overexert yourself..sure, the military training will push your limits but don't put too much pressure on yourself..or you'll get injured! embarrassed It aint good.

The lack of sleep in the first 2,5 months made my skin turn white and cracked for a while. I am slightly brown(half african) so that is way BAD !
I also had to take shit once a day(i liked the food a lot thogh) for some time so my metabolism took a hit too. I also started to get grey hair(at 20 !?!) after the first 2 weeks. It did stop(well slowed down) so i am now the Slighty White Swordsman too.
The actual military life after that garbage is alrigth though. But i have to repeat. Stay away from the bad apples ! Take books with you if you aren´t allowed any electrical toys durn basic training. It keeps your mind fresh and there are enough nerds in the army too.
Have fun dead . I could write a book over all the stuff i saw. After all I watched the german army colapse around me.

Ya-ho embarrassed
I already got out of the military, lmao
I got a special permission to leave, I'm prolly the only one there lol ( or atleast the earliest)
Mann, I really hated it there AF, so early to rise, too much rush all the time (I'm the type that likes doing my things on my own pace),
and, sunbathe all the time, ouch, in just a week, the results were already visible on(only) my hand (we wear long sleeves all the time), I don't like, I hate the sun even before going there..

The first few days were bad, really bad, it was boring, just sitting there under the sun while listening to repetitive speeches/lectures from officers, answering repetitive questionaires, one of the worst part, mannnn,
the hair cut.... Lol

I've been inside the military for just 1 and a half week btw,
The rest, I spent it on chilling inside a hospital, it was boring, but, hey, I was just chilling, doing things on my on pace, like bathing, (being in the hospital was kinda, just an excuse so I could get out of military, lol) the military doctor even told me that I'll be there for, atleast 3 weeks, but hey, I got out in just 1 and a half week again, lol....

Many from my batch could have been envious, esp the one guy that had been acting up things since the first week (like, stomach ache all the time, hard to eat, etc)
And when i went there yesterday to get my things, I found him, limping, lmao
Idk whether its an act or not..

I'm just happy to be back on my daily life, mangas, anime, games, yeshhhh...
Oh, also my work laugh

The hair cut was bad roll eyes ? I cut of half a meter of my hair and shaved my beard off days before i joined. Don´t worry i grew all and more back immediatly after my service.

I wanted to quit for the entire first week but decided to push through and got an amazing post(i was my own chef and got to play games and read stuff on my work pc for at least half the day on taxpayers money). I also loved the food. The real deal only gets going 2 weeks in when all the doctor stuff, equipment, paperwork and so on is complete and they drill you for real. I could dis- and reassemble a G36 on my stomach while blindfolded at the end with zero problems and march all day(sadly yes) with 20+ kg of equipment.
Now i am fat again and work(if you can call it that) in a library smile wink grin .

Yep, the haircut was bad,
Idk the name of that little devilish electric tool,
But they practically shave your hair off, like wtf, especially since most of us had long bangs etc, it really looked different, but Atm, it ain't that bad, since i now have, hmmmm, I guess an inch of hair, yeah....

They only left like, a few cm of hair on your head, even the guys who got a haircut (they left max of 1 inch) before going there was still called for another epic haircut, like, mannnnnnn....

Urrrr, I just dont like being woken up when I'm still tired, esp cause we kinda sleep late,
I really feel like shitt in the morning, also, we dont bathe on mornings, brush teeth then assemble to eat bfast... Uhhhhhhh...

I guess i could shoot an m16a1 atm, they taught us how on the 2nd week, no bullet tho biggrin

Nice work btw,, boooooookkkksss... Are nice

Dry practice is mere preparation. Anything even resembling marksmanship, even at normal assault rifle ranges, takes a good amount of repetition and honing out the basics. Until you've heard the sound, felt the kick and smelled the burning gunpowder, you haven't even scratched the surface. After getting some basic shooting done comes the moving targets, double-tapping, burst fire, support level weapons, side-arms.... Man, I miss the smell of gunpowder. Don't miss the cleaning part though.

All in all, I'm kinda disappointed that you quit so early. You only got the see the bad parts, but then, considering your description, you really might have become "that guy", so it was for the best that you were able to get released from the service. Its just that you have now missed out on the chance to experience something completely different.

Ah well, C'est la vie. Welcome back smile

My squad of about 30 had 2 quitters. One had shoulder problems and the doctors took him out. One was lazy as hell and played sick so he was discharged after 1,5 months.
Is this a normal number ? I finished my carear as Hauptgefreiter and still have half the money on a lucrative bank account. I also got payed very good unemployment money for an entire year because of my duty(as if) to my country while i was jobhunting and driving all over germany. Thx german taxpayers and my lazy ass will be payed by you for the rest of my life due to my job. Start working for the man. It is the best.
And remember Kanagi survived 10 days of tourture. How many did you do ?

Lmao, what was your military again?
Mandatory or voluntary?

Ours was mandatory 4months..

And, urrr, I don't really worry about money or unemployment much, cause I had a work before even going there, and I'm working there again atm lol

Who's Kanagi again?
I survived prolly 10 days too lol

@Baalzebup - thanks for having me back biggrin

I meant Kaneki(google autocorrect got me) your avatar. Germany had 9 months mandatory so i wanted to get it out of the way but then did 23 months in total. Military became voluntary only when i was still in but i got a good deal even if a had to march a few mountais up and down. Germany´s forrests are no joke ! What do they do with you in 4 months ? That is like a joke. It took me(and most of us) nearly a month to get accustomed that i had a rank after the basic training. I still have most of my uniforms(so many pouches for handhelds and techo-crap) and my real knive.
