Hello, I loved to see a manga or anime of a prince either banished or somehow separated from his royal family and the story is about him exacting revenge or regaining his throne. Best example I can give is Code Geass

Preferred:
-Shonen/Seinen
-Anime
-Fantasy or Medieval setting

Not Preferred:
-Shojo - I'll only read shojo if it doesn't focus on the romance aspect and mainly focuses on the political
-Whiny Heroine/Hero
-Deus Ex Machina - Doesn't really bother me unless it happens a lot
-Main Story is Romance

Bonus:
-Tragic ending

Kingdom - particularly the first arc, plus a later flashback arc. The rest of the story still fits, though the focus is more on Xin/Shin, while
I recommend the manga. The anime is a bit strangely animated.

Song of the Long March

Similar to Code Geass a very intelligent and revengeful mc, the setting is somewhat medieval. Manhua with great character development and an incredibly interesting mc.

Erementar Gerad - Aozora no Senki though the MC is princess, and not a prince. Aside from that it fits everything else.

Magi maybe... it definitely has a long arc like what you described. The current arc has gone back to that as well. It's got a lot of different things going on before and in between and it is on-going. It's pretty funny too.
