Hello guys I was wondering if you know anyone with an antisocial behavior, actually Antisocial personality disorder. If you actually do, could you tell me how to talk to them? or how do their families deal with them? Thank you ^^

Quote from Knightzomegaz
Then it's definitely an antisocial behavior.
Quote from zeroINUGAMI
I'm diagnosed with Antisocial personality disorder
I don't really get your question, but than my family deals with as they always have

I was just wondering since a family member has an antisocial behavior. Thank you that's good to know.

I don‘t know anyone, but these are my thoughts:
The family might try correcting that person, but if the said person is really stubborn and just won‘t listen,
the family might just give up on that person and just let him be..
How to talk, just talk normally unless that person is the type that wrecks havoc without an acceptable reason, do not talk with that person at all...

I'm with knightzomegaz talk to them normally
don't talk down to them or like their is something wrong with them
I had a few teachers do that when I was in school, it just made me pissed and do stupid things (Fights and such)
if your fine with saying what they are doing, I can try and give you some advice
as I got older and finished school (stopped having to deal with people trying to fix me)
I got better at controlling my behaviour

He's family, he deserves my concern.

Most of the time having family trying to talk to someone when they are emo will not work. There are 2 ways dealing with certain disorder: discipline or religion.
Strong discipline is usually the most practical way of doing it. This is because it will most likely going to work on anyone even if they seem to be bouncing off the wagon. A lot of mental patience are taught to have a certain kind of 'order' in their lives by living a life of routine discipline. They would wake up each day at the exact time, they would fold their beds and clean their room. It's some what 'zen' if you think about it. The army is usually best to teach discipline cheaply but not the most comfortable. They have this 'do it or die' attitude and that seem to work with everyone. It's not a 'fix' to the problem but it put them into a mind set where they will be more receptive of their families or wisdom.
Religion works better with people who aren't certain about their lives and usually people who deeply want to help themselves. I'm an atheist but I like having religion because it gives people something to hold on too in their lives. It also gives you a sense of community and social life.

do not listen to oddwaffle that nearly always ends badly, especially with antisocial people
and EMO IS NOT ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR, emo is just stupid kids
just treat them normal and if he has something that brings him peace leave him alone when he needs it
(in my case going for a ride on my motorcycle calms me down)

I am a close friend of a sociopath. The best method is just to treat them as a normal person. The biggest advice I could give is this:
When in an argument, use PURE logic. When you start using emotional reasons, or become emotional yourself, they tend to not listen, though they act as though they understand.
Question though: Is it anti-social behavior or not social behavior (your family member just does not like to interact with other people)? It'd be easier to help if you state some traits of your family member.

@Oddwaffle he's not an emo but I understand what you're trying to say. Thank you I think having a disciplined life is essential for all of us.
@zeroINUGAMI I know, he's not an emo and you're right sometimes leaving them alone is the best option. Thanks!
@royalon06 That's what I found out with him, trying to be emotional is not useful at all. It's anti-social behavior; he does interact with us and has many friends but if he's angry for some reason he can shout even to his own close friends, and they just abandon him. Thank you

I see, so he's closer to a low-functioning sociopath (low impulse control). I don't really know how to deal with that type. My friends that are sociopaths are all high-functioning sociopaths (high impulse control), so they rarely have outbursts and are mostly logical people. If it's just restricted to random outbursts, then it should be fine. However, if it starts getting worse, you should maybe get some professional advice.
On the other hand, if he gets angry enough to actually shout at his close friends, then maybe its a "weak" anti-social behavior. In my experience, someone with anti-social behavior would just smile and agree with the other person's opinion if that person started to annoy them. They wouldn't bother getting angry.

@royalon06 yes, he has some outbursts sometimes but he's usually kind and friendly. There are things, however, that make him angry and loses all reason and logic. If it's true what you say about weak anti-social behavior, then it might be that when I see him smile he's a little annoyed.
