We all know about the Call of Duty series, the Halo series, the battlefield series, any console exclusive and the like. I was wondering why you personally dislike one thing more than another. I think it's a problem of accessibility. Most of the time the kids that can't buy an M-Rated game or kids that only have one of the major consoles just hate on other exclusives because they can't play it.

Whats your opinions on this?

this is just typical human behaviour

in the early-mid 90s the sonic-mario hate was the big HATE
and its not just games...its everything...like jesus or die...like buddha or die...like w/e or you suck

we must have clear enemies or we get confused

conform to the group of friends or group we belong to or rebell and risk being left out
humans cant handle group pressure very well so in 90-95% of the time we will conform to what the group around us like

Really, I'm a fan of exclusive games, just not the exclusive part.
Hating something because you can't have it is really just jealousy, you only get jealous of things you like or want.

Games i hate? Let me think...games made solely for the movie that just got released in cinema. Most of these games are pieces of SH*t and huge waste of money to milk on a big screen production.
At best you will have elements of the movie otherwise the rest is just half witted gameplay gelled from a bunch of other games, usually done worse. Lots of bugs, very shallow and hollow gameplay. Just a huge waste of £40 and your time for playing it.

Hey man, The amazing spider man games were pretty good. 007 legends wasn't half bad either.

Well, Bioware certainly earned my ire with Dragon Age 2. Origins was a decent spiritual follow-up to games like Baldur's Gate and such, though it did have its flaws.

Then came DA2, with its maddening caricatyre party members, freaking stupid things like "no visual armor customisation because we want people to cosplay as our characters", click button = "awesome" -combat, the maniac focus on having both sides of the Templar/(blood)mage conflict filled with crazy, culminating on "you used to be an ok chum in Awakening" Anders and his endgame... sheesh.

Yes, I believe my hatred of DA2 is entirely justified. I feel cheated that I actually put money on that thing.

Always believed spider man games could be really fun if ever a game to make fun from. Like batman, but we all know the real success are the ones not based on movies.
Thanks to the other S*&t spider man movie games and never got the chance to play that...somewhat surprising average game.

Guy above me, you may not like dragon age 2 due to taste but that game was amazing. Countless replays and when i tried to go backwards and play the old dragon age series. I COULD not STAND the combat system.
I felt like i was disabled, the lack of melee skills..mages had enough but god...it was so 2 dimensional for melee and ranged...and assassin? What assassins?

Combat miles better and fluent, especially when you play the game in nightmare mode, from scratch. A real challenge and fluent combat.

I don't care if the game is exclusive on one console or not. As long as the game use first person perspective, I'll hate that game.

I can see where you are coming from, although those are rather extreme examples.
It's very easy for humans, especially kids, to segregate other people if they don't have similarities. Doesn't matter if they even tried the game or not, or the game is not as good as another.

Basically you can say its "Popular because it's popular". Just cause a lot of people knows about the game, it's automatically classified as one of the top game in your own game dictionary. Then the cycle starts all over when you tell other people its a good game when there are better-yet-unknown games out there.

To sum it all up and put it simply, we are all human advertisement which is even more effective then the advertisements you see on TV or such. If you see a game that's not on advertisement, you initially classify it as a bad game automatically.

And if the human advertisement say "Its a bad game for losers", then people who don't know any better would discriminate the game and sometimes along with the people who does play the game. When they do try the game out, they probably won't say "it's a good game" in fear of being out of the trend/group.

I like most games, instead of hate I would just say that some games don't hold my attention for that long. The only games I play right now are Diablo 3 and Dota2, both I have started/stopped a couple of times since they released. Games I will always love but never play are ones like: Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, WoW, Counter-Strike 1.6, CoD4/MW2. I enjoy online/multiplayer games more than singleplayer ones.

worst game I've played would have to be Game of Thrones - Genesis, an RTS based on the Game of Thrones world, it sucks so bad.

I hate games that are riddled with bugs and crash all the time. Other than that, I don't hate any games. Some just don't appeal to me whatsoever. The only thing that can be hated is the community surrounding some genres and even that is a waste of time. I hold no resentment towards any games. I just don't see a reason to play those games that aren't interesting as I could be spending my time on something that actually is.

It's not a litteral "hate", but it's very hard for me to "like" a game such as COD or such :
because I'm a big-time JRPG player, I really enjoy RPGs that will challenge my ability to assert the situation and act, be it real time or time base. I like the challenge of mastering the game system, meaning understanding what should be done in order to evolve efficiently on the game and I also like to challenge myself like fighting sephiroth at level 30 with the worst keyblade in kindom hearts...
Apart from this, since I'm an RPG lover, the storyline is extremely important, not only in RPGs, but in everykind of game : how can you ensure that many people will like your game if the only thing they have to do is kill ? More importantly in an RPG : how do you want the players to finish your 60-hour long game if the storyline is mediocre of to get a good impression?
And that applies to FPS such as COD : It's not an original storyline, it's a game where anyone can win... How could I feel special if I'm accomplishing something that anyone could do ?

But I have to admit one thing : I really enjoy the multiplayer feeling of FPS : the tension, the thrill, the faults that you do with your friends (not online) those are precious. but then again, me and my friend would rather play multiplayer RPGs, though they are rare...

SO basically, I believe that one's "hated" game will be the type that goes against their favorite because it lacks what the other has

FPS vs RPG = equality of chances and focus on not so changing gameplay vs proactive but complicated gameplay where storyline plays an important role
