Speed Racer trailer
Ok so it looks like it's going to be corny as hell, but it might be fun to see considering it is a somewhat classic anime. What does everyone think?

I don't know I haven't seen the cartoon in a while. It looks almost Burtonesque though

Wow, that really WAS cheesy looking.
I dunno, it looks like it is going to be a little too "off" to be successful. I hope I'm wrong, though, because that could open the door for more anime-to-movie remakes. What demographic is this being marketed towards? It seems like they're aiming for kids/early teens with all the flashy colors and cartoony special effects.
Hardcore Spped Racer fans will probably be annoyed with the inevitable deviations from the original, the way characters are presented, and the "kid"-aura the movie exudes.
Kids probably won't understand most of the fan-content kept in the movie for people who watched the original series.
And I just know some stupid kid is going to copy Spritle and Chim-Chim and try to ride in the trunk of someone's car (if they keep that aspect from the series in the movie), will end up being hurt, suffocate, or be killed, and a whole big lawsuit/ordeal will be raised.

The Driving looks sick! But if it city didn't look like it came from the imagination of some kid from the 70's, it might actually be a movie I'd want to see.
