This year's 29th issue of Kodansha's Morning magazine is announcing on Thursday that the return of Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond manga has been delayed until fall. The series went on hiatus in February, and the return was planned for the 29th issue.

The manga went on hiatus due to Inoue working on research and other reasons. The magazine explains that the return has been delayed due to Inoue's work on the "Tokubetsuten Gaudí x Takehiko Inoue -Synchrosuru Sõzõ no Gensen- Takehiko Inoue Interprets Gaudi's Universe" art exhibition. The special exhibit will run in the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo's Roppongi district from July 12 to September 7.

Weekly Young Jump is also announcing that the manga's 37th compiled book volume will ship in Japan on July 23.

The series had resumed in the magazine in 2012 after a roughly 18-month hiatus due to health issues. Viz Media released the 35th volume in North America in March.

The Vagabond manga, which tells a fictionalized account of real-life swordsman Musashi Miyamoto, has received critical acclaim in Japan and abroad. It won a Kodansha Manga Award in the general category in 2000, as well as the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2002. Inoue, also renowned for his basketball manga Slam Dunk, was nominated for the 2003 Eisner Award in the Best Writer/Artist category.
