hello!
im a long time reader of yaoi. i read from the cutest story to the most despicable stories. my view on homosexual relationship certainly do change (in that i believe everyone should be free to marry) however it still squicked me to see real life guys being lovey dovey. i cannot explain that, only that pictures are vastly different than realities?
so how about ya'all?

Before I started yaoi I was really uncomfortable with gay people in general. However, when I started I realized that I reached a point where I was pushing for them to be happy, I guess most of them became uncomfortable with my enthusiasm.
Now, I just look at them like normal people. I don't hate them or love them. They're human beings, just withe same sex partner. Although I did develop an awareness of guys with good butts, but thats just the pervert in me talking.

I'm bisexual and I don't have a "way of looking" at gay people. We are normal human beings, like any other heterosexual. Seeing two guys being lovey-dovey makes me all "aww, that's cute", the same way if I was seeing a girl and boy.
And yes, yaoi is very different from real life, the same way shoujo, ecchi, hentai etc are. The appearance, for example, we mostly see bishounen characters in yaoi or the "uke type x seme type", in which one is small and the other is big. Real relationships are far more diversified.
