I'm looking for manga with a main character and sort of setting like in hyouka
-main character extremely smart but either hides it or it doesn't show due to laziness
-definitely want some type of romance (doesn't have to be main plot)
-LOVE ANY DRAMATIC BACKSTORIES
Basically if you have read hyouka I really love that type of main character put into situations where they have to be all smart even though they don't want to~~~
Please help~
*i also love character who seem to have little or no emotions*

Yahari Ore no Seishun Rabukome wa Machigatte Iru. (Novel). The main leads aren't a perfect fit but they are similar enough in their isolated demeanor. The overall setting is also very similar, being on school and in a situation where the main lead finds himself forced to join a club where he meets the "beautiful female lead". Eventually another cute female lead joins too.

Lots of drama and fantastic dialogue, as well as internal monologues in this series. There is a nice romantic subplot in it too. The second season of the anime is airing right now (up to episode 4).

Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu and its novel counterpart are really good. The main character pretty much does everything in his power not to go all out and his past is pretty messed up.

I'm also a fan of Nejimaki Seirei Senki - Tenkyou no Alderamin even though there's only a few chapters out. It's also based on a novel, though I haven't read it yet.

Finally, I highly recommend Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei and the novel it's based on. The main character is exactly as you described. He's super strong and intelligent but for various reasons is literally unable to show other people. It's a great read.

All of these guys have little to no emotions. Hope this helps!

Me too, second Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei. If you read novels, I suggest you read the light novels. In my opinion, MKNR is too wordy in terms of explanations to be a good manga. I cant stand seeing so many words on top of illustrations dead

And also Xian Ni (Novel), once again i suggest you read the novel. I was recently reccommended to read this and its good. The MC does hides his full potential at one point and probably will again later in the story (its just my guessing though >x<). Though i dont know about romance and the backstory (to me) isnt that dramatic. Nevertheless, the story's interesting biggrin

While it might be an unusual recommendation I would suggest Iris Zero. The main lead is not lazy he is trying his best not to be noticed so as to avoid being bullied but the net effect is the same.
