In2k2/K2less Needs: There are plenty of areas that we can use a person!

Editor(s):
Several of our projects need an editor. An editor will be expected to work on the chapter assigned. The general expectations are:

1.Cleaning scans
2.Cloning - we do not clone out sfx(s), we just slap the sfx: note
a.Though we do clone out when there is dialog (narrations, etc..)
3.Typesetting
4.Overall maintenance of the chapter.
a.Potential staff that can only be Typesetters/Cleaners are welcomed as well.

Projects needing immediate editors:
Nervous Venus, Prime Minister, Donmai Princess, Muhiji, Genyou no Meizu, Tsubasa wo Motsu Mono, Mixed Vegetable.

Text formatter(s): Text that has already been copied and pasted onto psd files, need to be reformatted, meaning the text layer may need to be:

1.Moved - Text boxes MAY need to be moved into the right bubble.
2.Resized (Text Boxes) - Text boxes need to be resized to fix the dialog bubbles, boxes etc…
3.Resized (Font Size) - The font itself may need to be resized smaller/larger.
4.Changed (font Type) (changing to felt, Kristen, narrative etc…)
5.Changed (Sfx Font)
6.Spot Cleaned – (Minimal) Might be a spot that I missed.

I would prefer someone with experience, since I am in school and do not have time to train (but I am desperate). I particularly hate this part, so I can leave a chapter for weeks before touching it, because I really hate formatting text so much.

Projects needing immediate text formatters:
Demon Sacred, Maji Benten, Prime Minister, Donmai Princess, Muhiji, Genyou no Meizu, Tsubasa wo Motsu Mono

Qcer:
One person described it as, “An editor tired of editing that happens to have fabulous language skills. Or a proofer that has been suckered in to doing more than he/she wanted.”

Translators: Japanese/Chinese --> English would also be welcomed.

Projects needing translations:
Tsubasa wo Motsu, Demon Sacred - just to name a few

Japanese proofer: (Also, if you don’t have time to translate a whole chapter, we do need a Japanese proofer.)

Checking over a script, making sure the names translated from another language (other than Japanese) are correct, and some making sure the basic meaning is there.

Sfx Translator: That’s it, just making sure to translate missing sfx from a chapter.

I can be reached by:

msn: same as email

P.S If you are a great organizer/coordinator, web designer, wiki user, or something, I can sure use your help! Even if people call it a disorder, we call it a gift ;)

P.S.S For some reason I tried to put links within the titles ... and somehow I seemed be "linking challenged." However, you can access the most of the titles from the web page(s) of in2k2 and k2less.

I have recently come to the conclusion that I would like to give back to manga what it gives to me and so many. I believe that the only way for me to so this is as a Proof-Reader for a manga, I believe that by me doing this is will enable me to further myself and my ambition to develop my own manga. I need to get more in tune with the whole process to further myself towards this goal. English is my native speaking language and i am currently at a University Standard of English I have completed year 12 English and English Language (English being a broader sense and English Language being more directly focused on grammar and the arrangement of the language). I am not as some would say very experienced at Proof Reading but i am always willing to learn.
Awaiting your reply,

~Kon-san<33

P.S i have to go to school now but i can be contacted at tehgeneralforum@gmail.com

Do you need Demon Sacred raws?

I have vol. 1-8 (got them really cheap at the local used bookstore), but at the rate my Japanese is improving (or not...) it'll be years before I can really read them, so if you can use any of them, PM and I'd be happy to donate them.

I might be able to QC - does the QCer do the actual fixing, or just let the editor know what to fix? My comp is old & slow, so graphics editing is verrrry slow & painful. dead

Darn, thank you for your generous offer. Now I wish I didn't have them (okay that's not true) I own up to 9. though If I can't get 10, I will be willing to poke you *wink* Side note it looks like Demon Sacred is wrapping up.

As for the qcer, at this point it would be faster and easier if the qcer fixes the stuff (especially if I am the one that edits, if I am not the editor *evil grin*). I do not necessarily have the time to go back and forth to fix (there are other issues etc..). And it would delay the release considerably, since I am trying to keep to doing most of the stuff I do during the weekends.

Have you had experience in editing and proofing? Have you qcd before?

Heh... Well unfortunately the local bookstore isn't a reliable source for manga, they just get a few in now & then and I thought Demon Sacred looked interesting so I grabbed it. I'd be quite surprised if more volumes showed up, but if they do I'll snag 'em.

My editing experience is zero. Tried a few tutorials, but with my comp being so slow it's really hard, plus I have next-to-zero artistic talent (which may not be necessary for editing, but it sure helps!).

I've done a bit of proofing/QCing, for ton1x (now dead) and TJO, not a lot and not much lately, though.

Concerning the QC: I sent you a pm, since I didn't see your email address.
