ok, the scanlation group Essence of Purity disappeared without a trace and now me and some friends want to continue scanlating one of their projects. I know they're inactive but I'm not 100 percent sure they disbanded.

Does anyone know where I can find the person in charge there so we can ask to take over the project? I couldn't find anything on the web... there is a yahoo group but it doesn't seem to accept new members so I can't get in. dead

heeeeeeelp

I checked into the status of Essence of Purity-
Like you said, there's no website and the yahoo group is no longer active. I went to their IRC channel and talked to Shin. She said they're "not closed, but not active". Not sure what that means...

She also said she no longer accepts new members to the yahoo group because approving new members takes too much time and there's nothing there anyway.
I don't know about other groups taking over their projects, though. You'll have to ask her yourself.

tbh I don't think this group will ever become active again. Why not disband and get it over with? Not that I care.

I hope that helped!

I read on Aarinfantasy forum that EoP are not 'officially closed' but are also not 'alive' either. They have officially dropped Koori no Mamono no Monogatari (SiH plans to continue this) and G-Defend. Yume no Kodomo is another project Isan admits they are unlikely to complete because they lack time and resources.

You can read about it here: http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f114/t70134-koori_no_mamono_n o.html

Maybe you can contact Isan about picking up EoP projects through the Aarin forum. Best of luck!

Thanks for that forum link, lyrebird. When I talked with Shin about picking up Koori, she implied that she'd be closing EoP down and all the projects were fair game for anyone who wanted to continue them. From that post, though, it looks like she might have changed her mind smile

We (SiH) were interested in picking up more than just Koori, but we don't really have scans for the projects, so I never asked her. Will keep that in mind in case someone comes along with scans (that is, that they aren't all up for grabs and I'd have to ask her).

Pandora ~ I contacted Shin through EoP's IRC channel.
