This year's 38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is revealing on Monday that Tite Kubo's Bleach manga is getting a live-action film adaptation that will open in Japan in 2018. Sōta Fukushi (live-action Toshokan Sensō/Library Wars' Hikaru Tezuka, live-action Strobe Edge's Ren Ichinose, live-action Kami-sama no Iu Toori's Shun Takahata) will star in the film as Ichigo Kurosaki, and Shinsuke Sato (live-action Gantz, Gantz II: Perfect Answer films, Oblivion Island anime film) is directing the film.

So it begins. The ink on what dares itself to be called finale is barely dry and the milk cow is already prepared to be worked from all sides. Expect your next main Bleach manga in 2018, i guess, back due to popular demand and stuff. Thank god i called it quits years ago.

Waste of money and waste of time 80% of the time live action versions never work out.

Yup, it always just looks pretty bad, imagine watching live action Naruto, it's just going to be one big cringe festival.

The chances get a lot worse when the said story requires a lot of special effects.

I have yet to see any good ones with fantasy genre or elements in it for live adaptation, it all just looks baaad in live action. Romance/action, things that translate well to real life usually do okay.
