I started reading BL manga a little over a year ago, when I actually discovered it on Wikipedia! (Weird. I know.) I had been reading a lot of books with boy x boy romances, so when I found out that Yaoi existed (and that it was written for girls), I was thrilled. The first manga I read (in any genre) was Kaze to Ki no Uta, which I loved. It was a lot like the books I'd read, flowery, tragic, set in a boarding school, lots of guilt and anguish and rapture, evil villain who corrupts a young boy, all those classic elements. It hasn't been completely scanlated, but raws of all the volumes are available for download. But I have to be careful reading it, since it can depress me for a week. I mostly read BL. Right now I'm trying to teach myself Japanese, so I can read the rest of From Eroica With Love.
Anyway, I was just wondering how you started reading Yaoi.

I was at a very young age when I discovered yaoi by incident... Perhaps at 11-12 years old? I was really into this anime called Naruto, so I was looking at different things about it on youtube. I suddenly came across this doujinshi called "Cinema Graffiti" (Heh, I still remember the name after all these years) which was pretty darn explicit let me tell you, the ginger ale I was drinking went right out my nose. I was like "Whaa Huh"
....And then I watched it again. I really didn't see the big deal about it until I made a slideshow of a few yaoi pictures and being so proud of it sent it to my family friend. She was like "Huh? You're into that stuff? Don't worry I won't tell anyone" and... I came to realize a few things that day myself.
I was surprised you came across BL manga through Wikapedia, but nonetheless~ the fact we could gloat about it together, is definitely worth everything!

Yeah, Wikipedia was a very strange place to find out about Yaoi. I might have gotten there from reading about Summer Vacation 1999, which was inspired by Heart of Thomas.
