I thought this would be an interesting fight. Cloud from ff7 vs. clare. If you've played ff7 and watched the movie advent children then u already know that cloud is pretty bad ass. They're both pretty fast fighters clare and cloud, I think clare might be faster but cloud more powerful, although I don't see how she can defend herself against his omnislash technique. Of course the flash sword might be difficult too. Interesting fight though

You are right.. this would be very interesting fight. I dont really like Cloud, but in my opinion he would probably win, because Clare relies on her abilitty to sense youki flow, which Cloud doesn´t have.

I think cloud would win 2 since sephiroth can destroy planets and cloud is powerful enuf to beat him. Of course Clare has some wicked offensive abilities, which makes me uncertain. She wouldn't be able to predict his moves like u said cause cloud doesn't use yoki.

lol ! Cloud can't beat Sephiroth. No one can. In fact if you haven't noticed Sephiroth never fights seriously with cloud. He only toys with him. Who cares bout cloud I would like to see

Vincent Valentine vs. Clare

As far as I know he is the most powerful fighter in FF7 ( well after Sephiroth )

Cloud and vincent have a lot in common personality wise in my opinion, I can tell you're a vincent fan I think vincent is pretty awesome 2 especially when he becomes Chaos like in Dirge of Cerberus. I understand what u mean with cloud and sephiroth though you're saying cloud didn't beat him both those times sephiroth beat himself. Sephiroth is stronger than cloud, but he still got beat no matter how you put it, Clouds omnislash is unstoppable. Out of the characters here's my order of ranking them as far as how strong they are.
I actually think Vincent would beat Clare if he did become Chaos, maybe Cloud too, not sure though. I still think Cloud would barely beat him.

1. Sephiroth ( could've beat Cloud every single time)
2. Cloud (who can stop his omni-slash?)
3. Vincent (Really badass when he becomes Chaos)
4. Clare (Resilient, has good offensive abilities)
5. Aeris (Very good defensive abilities, I could be wrong with ranking her in the top 5, but she still does pretty good for a dead person.)

Everyone else below here doesn't even compare to the top 5

omnislash is just a combo move, i dont see why people think its unstoppable all u need to do is trip him before he slashes and its ruined. another note, Sephiroth is probably one of the most complex villains in the series; its pretty stupid if he wasn't fighting cloud seriously in a life or death situation involving his mother. either way cloud went 2/3 against sephiroth. matter fact probablly double dat if u include all his forms and jenova droppings.

ima give this to cloud cuz he can fly(KH series).

heard of kh but never played it. I'm only going off these rankings from the ff7 video game, ff7 ac, and dirge of cerberus. in the advent children movie even though cloud was hanging with sephiroth thruout the fight it looked like sephiroth was in control until cloud omnislashed him. Sephiroth could've killed him right there, but then it would've been a bad ending. After I saw your post about this yesterday I watched some kh videos on youtube and cloud looked like the better fighter when he fought sephiroth on both games. So there's a valid argument that cloud is stronger, but I'm still going with my original rankings based off ac.

This would be a pretty good match, without the special moves and all, I believe they'd have a pretty even sword match. With moves like omnislash though, Cloud is bound to win, add to that all the other abilities he can use being from final fantasy (summons, magic, materia, etc..). An awakened Claire though would seem totally powerful though, being about half awake she already became totally fast. She'd eat up Cloud with that speed if he's not careful, But in the end Cloud would still win. But adding the fact that we can't gauge her total strength after becoming an awakened being yet. If she becomes uber powerful after awakening, we'd have another pretty tight match between them.

I know it is about Cloud but can't help myself to tell you all about Vinnie to increase his fanbase

I may be wrong in some places and in others I maybe just exaggerating stuff but you all know how fans are, don't you ?

As far as I have read Chaos and Omega are the ulitmate beings on the planet. Chaos being somewhat guardian of Omega. Omega as I know is a being which acts like a fail-safe mechanism. If the planet is about to be wiped out then it will collect all the lifestream out the living and sail the cosmos in search of habitable planet to start life again. Saying this we can pretty much assume how godly Omega is. But there is a contradiction in Dirge of Cerberus where Chaos says that it is time for them( It and Vincent ) to stop Omega. I assumed that chaos thought since Omega was falsely made to believe the threat to the planet it was not the right time for it to awaken. And well in the classic Vincent-Chaos style they take down Omega.
( I still haven't finished FF VII cause I own a PC and my bro keeps uninstalling the game to irritate me. But I have reached some point, around 2/3 of the story. )

Saying that, I guess in the end the Lifestream intervenes and stops that planet in FFVII from being annihilated.Well you know the math. C>B , B>A in the end C pwns all.

I won't say Vincent is more powerful than Sephiroth since it has already been officially said that he is the most powerful character in FFVII and all its spinoffs, But I will say that Vincent pwns all others if his fighting style and attitude is measured with other characters.
Ones more reason why Vincent >>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>Cloud. If anyone remembers in FFVII:AC Vincent saves the useless Cloud from Kadaj and his gang. On top of that his negative attitude instills some confidence in Cloud

EDIT: OMG! I just realized I haven't said anything about the thread topic. No matter how much i like Clare, I have to go with cloud on this one since he is way powerful. + he kills demons to get lvlups and gil and some cool items that they drop

I think you're being a bit too biased, being a Vincent fanboy and all.

Yeah, Vincent is really strong, especially after I've played DoC. But there's still one little fact that you're overlooking. Cloud is the lead. 'Nuff said.

First of all, about your argument that he saved Cloud from Kadaj? Well, don't you remember that Cloud was all emo-like and stuff? So, after he got his Resolve no jutsu from Vincent, Tifa and Aerith, he became alot stronger.

He finished off the Summon Bahamut, while Vincent just stayed in the background, just like Cloud stayed in the background in DoC, because he wasn't the lead in that game.

Then he finished Kadaj off with relative ease, unlike in his emo-state when Vincent saved him. And after that Sephiroth, who is supposedly the strongest character of the game. So, Cloud has beaten Sephiroth (strongest character of FFVII) 3 times already, how much has Vincent? But that issue is besides the point.

Also, DoC has received alot of critic. So, maybe not only the gameplay was bad, but the story too? It wasn't well thought out. They made Vincent overpowered, leading into thinking you that he's the 2nd strongest character of FFVII. I mean, come on, Matrix moves? -.- Sorry, but that was lame.

And! There will also be another FFVII spin-off (probably on PS3) which will be the conclusion of the FFVII compilation, and it will take place after DoC. As you've seen, at the end of DoC, there's a secret ending. I reckon Cloud will fight Genesis, and possibly Sephiroth again, and you'll see Cloud showing some new power or something. Because he always was unusual. >_> Don't forget that he is the last one, besides Sephiroth, that has true S cells. The same cells that make Sephiroth so strong.

Who says that Vincent even still has Chaos inside him? Maybe Chaos dissappeared with Omega.

But when it all comes down to it, Vincent is a kick-ass character. Objectively though, Cloud is stronger than him, I think.

I didn't know that was the bahamut summon sure didn't look like bahamut it looked like a weapon. Also the ff7 game on ps3 i heard is going to be a remake of the original ff7.

As far as the discussion of cloud and clare it seems cloud would win, but would have to be cautious. I wonder how vincent would do after all having him morph into chaos wouldn't that be considered "awakening" As much as I like Vincent, I still think Cloud is the stronger character, although I wonder if vincent would also beat Clare?

It was a Bahamut. It's name was Bahamut Quake or something, don't remember anymore. -.- And that is only speculation that there's going to be a re-make of FFVII on the PS3. Also what about the final conclusion, then? The secret ending of DoC? There's going to be another FFVII game, and I bet it'll be on PS3.

Vincent wouldn't be Vincent without Chaos.

About the Bahamut fight, Vincent was just using plain bullets and nothing else. Truthfully I feel Vincent is the passive type that stays and does when asked to or sees no other way. We saw that in DoC, didn't we ?

The real reason why there was so much critic about DoC because FFVII fans wanted another addon with Cloud but they decided to do a optional character like Vinnie ( maybe there is an evil Vinnie fanboy in Square-Enix who corrupted the minds of other to do that. EvilFanBoy FTW )

OMG! I am at it again, ain't I? I must really stop defending Vinnie I presume or this may just go on.

Well I care less about who is the strongest really. I prefer underdogs fighting against all odds. So, I say Vincent is an awesome kick-ass underdog ( Just so that I can avoid this thread going into flames with Vinni vs. Cloud stuff whit the topic is completely different )

Clare would totally own Cloud, simply because she can slash way faster than anything in the final fantasy universe. Seriously, I don't ever recall anyone that can cut things to ribbons in a blink of an eye in FF, even Sephy is just uber strong but not uber fast.
Oh, did I mention Clare can regenerate and has a transformation?
