I just watched the movie this afternoon.

I will say one thing. I don't understand why people don't think Robert Pattinson is attractive. I just read this entire forum devoted to the movie, and seriously, considering a lot of the previews and pictures of Robert Pattinson (excluding EW magazine front cover picture), he is seriously gorgeous. But everyone is entitled to their opinion of course.

For the movie itself. I don't think people will be able to understand the 'depth' of Bella's and Edward's feelings for each other that you get from the book. I wonder if such 'depth' can be portrayed anyway. The transition between shots were incredibly awkward and the lack of flow took a lot away from each scene. Pattinson I felt, delivered his lines in a hesitant way that lacked flow and fluidity, like he was struggling with each line. Kristen, I felt, did not portray Bella as I would have liked. Kristen interpreted Bella as monotone and stoic. She was funny, though, I did laugh during the movie and the supporting characters (the human ones) were seriously funny. But the twos' interaction, when their interaction was intense, it was decent, but apart from the intensity, they were seriously so awkward together. And the choppiness and lack of flow did not help that awkwardness. For example, the scenes would present Edward as I hate you in one scene, and then I can tolerate you in another scene, then I hate you, then I can't be your friend scene, it makes you go like "whaaaat, that makes no sense."

Seriously, the director is so caught up in the moment she forgets the plot as a whole.

The supporting actors made the movie more worthwhile, at least. I liked the trio, the actors who played Laurent, James, and Victoria at least were notable in their roles.

Did anyone foresee Eric as Asian? That was a surprise to me. Whoever played Mike Newton, made everything so lighthearted and FUNNY.

I write too much.

I've got to agree. I would say he is too good looking to be in the movie. none But I suppose that since he didn't fulfill the dream/fantasy of the obsessed fan girls, he has to be labeled as unattractive.

I totally was suprised when I saw an Asian guy in the movie. (He was good looking btw) I thought Eric was white but I guess the movie thought otherwise.

I agree with people who say Robert is Pattinson is unattractive in Twilight. He was much attractive in Harry Potter the Globet of Fire. The movie had its moments (the baseball scene was pretty cool as well as the fighting scene between Edward and James) but the rest was pretty boring. I didn't like the acting much and they could have done better. The camera angles were a bit off and the relationship portrayed between Bella and Edward was ackward. It was lacking emotion.

I just saw Twilight yesterday and I've got to say it was terrible. Before I even watched the movie I had a bad impression because of the cast anyway but let me state why it was terrible.

1)The cast sucked (as I have already said).

2)Before the movie even started there were fangirls yelling they're lungs out and I was already pissed at that point. Two words, ANNOYING CROWD. Everytime Edward appeared in the movie I had to cover my ears. -_-

3)The acting was incredibly mediocre. The book was already corny enough. The movie made it worse. It was just as corny with shit for acting. They could of at least acted corny. The corny lines from the book came out with monotone voices from the two crappy mains.

4)What the hell?! No development and they're in love?! Thet's like any classic shoujo! It was incredibly rushed. Can't blame them cause the movie will be to long if they didn't do that. But things happened to fast and too many things were changed. I rather would have sat an extra hour for a better movie.

5)Did anyone see Edward when he was biting Bella's arm? He looked like he just got out of Special Ed. I actually have to say that was pretty hilarious. I was the only person laughing at that scene. The mediocre acting actually payed off for a good laugh for that scene. laugh

Overall, the movie was terrible. Rotten Tomatoes rated it 44% on it's Tomatometer. Even after I had explained all the flaws of this movie to my friends, all they did was call me a hater and gush about Edward's hotness.

I watched Madagascar 2 after that and I have to say, it was much better. Much better than how I expected it to be too. It was hilarious and entertaining. Twilight was much worse than I thought it would be, and Madagascar was much better. Funny turnout, eh?

I just watched this movie today.
And let's just say, it sucked monkey butt.
First, the cast sucked, as I already knew that before even watching the movie.
The acting by the two main characters was dull, unexciting, robotic, and let's just say, boring. It was very very evident and obvious that Robert was trying to hide his English accent, nice try, but it just lowered the quality of your acting. Kristen or w/e, made Bella's character so depressing and awkward, which Bella isn't at all, she's just shy. They changed a lot, added a lot, and took out a lot too no And because of that, their romance seemed to have spanned like 2 or 3 weeks, compared to months in the book.
5 minutes into the movie: They meet and can't keep their eyes off each other, Edward stalks her.
10 minutes: They're in love.
11 minutes: OMG, I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU!
12 minutes: I will die for you! Don't leave me!
And Edward....was I the only one that thought his facial expressions went from normal to creepy angry pained face throughout the whole movie?
And Jacob....what died and put itself on his head and called it hair?

In other words....the movie was disappointing.

Disappointing indeed. I watched it today and it's a bummer.
The casting is really off. But I do think Robert Pattinson's character works.
Bella? Well, no. I really had a deja vu kind of feeling with her scenes. It was like I was watching the Panic Room all over again. I'm sorry but I don't think she quite grasped Bella's personality from the books. Did any of the cast read the books, anyway?

The storytelling of the film is so confusing. Plus there were a lot of changes in scenes from the books that didn't even need to be changed. There's no character development at all. And as people before me have already said, there's no real romance. They meet, they like, they love, they're willing to die for each other... but I never get why. I only know because of the books, the taunting, the flirting... but there's none of that in the movie.

All in all, Twilight is a good book. New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn...well I didn't really liked them as I liked the first book. As for the movie, I think it will always be difficult trying to take a book to the screen successfully.

It's funny how he was better as Cedric Diggory, a role in which he didn't have many lines or much screentime. laugh

Yeah, the movie sucked, and I hadn't even heard of the books until these teen fangirls were squeeing about it everywhere. Luckily, I didn't have to pay. bigrazz

And a question to the people who've read and/or liked the books. Have the rabid fangirls destroyed the fun and joy of Twilight, and made people outside of the fandom think it's crap? You know, like what fangirls do with EVERYTHING they get their hands on?

Fangirls ruined the fun of it sad I remember when I was one of the handful of girls at my school that even read it. A year later, it was all over and I had moved on from Twilight.
But yeah, the acting sucked.

I loved it completely.
No fangirls present.
Except for me and bella after it had ended. Swooning in a pink cloudly way.

You should try it Swan.
See the light.
Experience it for yourself.
See the hot Edward Cullen make a fool of himself.
I'd say the movie was pretty amazing myself.
Not sure if it's in the same way as the fangirls though.
There were actually a lot of funny scenes in which I was the only person laughing. laugh
