Also, even though he was Geassed, he killed Sayoko and Nunaly...that S.O.B.

I'm really not sure how you can possibly justify blaming him for that- if you're going to assign blame, it's entirely Lelouch and Nina's. If that order wasn't there, Suzaku never would have done something like that.

you both have a point.......it's not entirely his fault, although partially it is, mostly even.....it's all about cause and effect.....because he joined the millitary, and opted to take orders from the britainians (knowing that he'd have to kill japanese) it led to him using that warhead-like thingy which supposively killed sayoko, and nunnaly etc.....

but on the other hand, if lelouch hadn't of cast his geass on suzaku.....chances are that might not of happend....but to put most of the blame on him is ridiculous to me, even if it was his geass that may have caused suzaku to do what he did

and on hand #3.....the psycho crazy lesbo bitch built that shit.....and if she hadn't of done it to begin with, well the obvious wouldn't have occurred....

but at the end of the day i'mma have to say this.......i'd say the person who pressed the button has to take the blame for his actions......yes, he was under the geass when it happend, but it's not like he didn't no that he had a geass cast on him to begin with, and it's not like he didn't no that he'd be in a battle with some warhead-like thingy at his disposal, which his superiors might order him to use .....but even if he didnt use it, i'm sure someone else would of...so i'd split the blame between him, nina and prince sneizhel,....used it, built it, and ordered it all to happen

Hope that clears it up...

Anyway...the biggest mistake Suzaku made was to bring Freija...it's not like he couldn't take it off and leave it on the Avalon...If you've got no intention to use a weapon like that, don't bring it along onto a battlefield...

Yes, he knew had geass casted on him. He cursed Lelouch in ep. 17 about it. He asked him why did he cast such an order on him.

But who to blame that's the question, right? Well one could start Lelouch because he was the one who placed the geass on Suzaku. So it wasn't like Suzaku used the Freiya willingly. He didn't have much choice really. So you can't really hate him for it. But you can blame him for being stubborn. I mean Pudding Earl and Cecile did ask him to retreat because they he was no match for the improved Guren. And because he was obsessed about Lelouch being brought to justice, he didn't retreat. Well after that you all know what happened.

It's quite annoying that you can't really blame Suzaku for anything. I mean he had take Freiya along with him because he would have been blame for treason if he didn't. It was Sneizel's (don't remember how he's name is spelled) order to take it along and Sneizel's is just an ambitious prince who's trying to win a war. And Nina had already been developing Freiya before anything happened to Euphemia, she just had a major boost to finish it when Euphy died.

Lelouch would probably the only one to blame. I mean he was the one who ordered him to live using geass in first season. And now he didn't think what could happen, he just wanted Suzaku dead, because he was in his way and he betrayed him. Even though Suzaku warned Lelouch about the heavy strategic weapon, Lelouch just brushed it aside. Probably thinking that he wouldn't use it.

So in the end you can't blame Nina, because he was just the person who developed it and not the one who used it. Sneizel is just a prince who trying to win a war. In the end your left only with Suzaku and Lelouch, because Suzaku didn't want to retreat and Lelouch was the one who used geass on Suzaku in the first place. Even though I kind of hate Suzaku, you can only blame both Suzaku and (surprise surprise) Lelouch.

And why the both of them? Well that's because Lelouch just wanted Suzaku dead even though he knew, that Suzaku had geass placed on him. And Suzaku can be blamed for not retreating even though he was told to. There you have. Man I'm tired. Too much thinking and too much writing for one thread laugh
I can't think of anything else about this subject anymore, so have trying to figure out who to blame.

The problem with that is because Suzaku is a member of the Knight of Rounds. He doesn't really need to listen to Schniezel and only the Emperor can pass judgment on him...

hmm...he's right, i was ready to agree with you till i read this........i think i do remmember hearing this on the show...so in the end, it's suzakus fault.........i wont say completly, because it's being shared by others.........Nina, Sneichzel, and i'd put a small amount on Lelouch....i know he's the one cast the Geass, but that was a year ago......and he didn't want it to happen, on the other hand the others all wanted it to happen.....and suzaku brought to begin with, you don't bring a gun to a fist fight.....then get forced to pull the trigger and put the blame on someone else, you shouldn't of bright the gun to begin with, right?

If Suzaku hadn't joined the Britannian military, a pilot more willing to use FLEIA would have been present. Suzaku was basically the only one willing to use it as a threat.

It would not have happened if Lelouch hadn't used his geass. It's not really a chance thing, Suzaku would absolutely never make a conscious decision to drop it, that's just his character. Kallen would have killed him. After Nunnally retreated, there is a chance that Schneizel would've used the one his airship was equipped with.

It was impossible for Suzaku to know the Guren's machine potential, which is one of the reasons he didn't retreat (his stubborness is also a factor, but he never had any way of knowing not doing so would cause him to drop a nuke). It's also pretty difficult to predict a situation where FLEIA would have saved him- I'm fairly certain that he only registered it as a possible when Nina said that it could save him. If she hadn't said that, it's possible that the geass might have allowed him to take another route to survive.

Suzaku's only superior, like blakraven said, is the Emperor, who everyone assumed would not be at the battlefield at all. Schneizel actually doesn't have the authority to order him to use it. "The one who pressed the button" was not in a conscious state, and without making a conscious decision to use it himself, he's entirely blameless in this incident. Anyone other Brtiannian would probably have had no qualms about using it even earlier.

Actually bringing it can go both ways, but once again if he hadn't, Nina would have in some knightmare and would have used it immediately like she was threatening to. There's not much choice in the matter if he wanted it not to be used.

Man!!... this discussion's getting a bit nutty, don'cha think.

If you fancy assigning blame, might as well start with the Hentai-Emperor.... I mean, it wouldn't be as bad if he just kept his pants on, right?!

I just don't like him he angers me, His dream to become the knight of one is far from close and I'm guessing the geass of living on is probably going to make him betray Britannia and screw himself over.

Point taken, to an extent. I'm just tired of Suzaku being blamed for literally everything that happens that people don't like (and we're talking literally everything- I'm sure that someone has even found a way to blame him for global warming), and this one really isn't his fault.

Agreed.

Never understood all this Suzaku hatred either....but I'm more concerned about viewers getting so serious over an anime, to be honest.... but it at least shows that The Gooch did well with this one. (despite R1>R2)

EDIT:
BTW.... The Gooch = Goro Taniguchi.... in case you were wondering. (Planetes FTW!!)

Anime is SRSBUSINESS -_-;;.

No, seriously, I'm just one of those people that debates everything, it's a good way of wasting time. Geass just happens to be the most interesting current show that supports it (a certain sized fanbase is a requirement.) Like heck I would waste time ranting about Macross Frontier roll.
