Is the reason why I started reading Manga. Period pieces of feudal Japan have always had the greatest draw on my interests.

Do you concur?

there is a very good novel about feudal life in japan, especially about the life of Toyotomi Hideyoshi.

I've read it 9 years ago, borrowed from my middle school library.

Looks very interesting.

When I was much younger, I used to read those Discovery books. You know, the illustrated ones that show the development of whatever, like boats and guns and what have you.

I ran across one about Samurai, and was intrigued. Then I picked up James Clavell's Shogun, and was enthralled. That and Rouroni Kenshin brought me to manga. Love it.

I love period pieces in general, but there is something special about Samurai flicks/books/manga/anime.
