No, I don't want to know if you've taken classes (but it would be an interesting faction), I just want to know how you deal with your aggression. Do you excercise when you're angry, or doing something artistic? Me, personally, if something upsets me and I have the time to do it, I'll go to the kitchen, pull out the ice tray and have fun with the ice pick for a while. Nice way to releive negativity, I find. But enough about me, share your methods. Maybe we can compare whose works better. wink

Hmmm, well, when i do manage to get mad, i usually just sit down where i am and listen to music, but if that's not possible, i distract myself from it and deal with the feelings later.

Btw, i have taken anger management classes in the hospital before.

Depends entirely on the cause.

Some options:

deep breaths
focus on something else
yell, usually about whatever's making me angry (generally only do this when I'm alone & no one else can hear)
cry
clean
organize
bake something, but that's more a way to deal with frustration & when I feel like I'm not accomplishing anything than with anger
walk (fast)
clench fists until my nails cut into my palms
punch walls (do NOT recommend this one, I still have scars, & am lucky I never broke anything)

Nope, been there, done that as well. I find the dishes particularly soothing.

ive never taken classes, but what really helped me was when i got to high school i took up sports and blew off steam there without getting into bug trouble.

In football i would use my anger to fuel my game. An example would be the movie my Adam SAndler -The Waterboy biggrin . Sorta like that. Wrestling was another thing. now that im out of high school i do martial arts.

Breathing techniques. and some workouts help control my anger. The punching bag has turned out to be a good friend. biggrin

Someday I really REALLY want to be able to just fling a whole set of dishes across a room onto a concrete floor, and shatter them one at a time. biggrin

...yeah, so washing dishes when I'm angry isn't a good thing. laugh

I've never taken those classes. none

Anyways,
When I'm really angry at someone I just try to relax by listening to music I like or just distracting myself with something else like a book/TV/something.
My brain protects itself by not thinking about the source, blocking the bad thoughts, that what keeps me sane actually...
Sadly, after many years of certain circumstances that's probably one of the only positive things I've got from it...
Being able to focus less to almost not at all on what's really troubling.
Thinking too much about someting like being angry just harms your health.

Things don't irratate me or anger me. The few things that do... Well then I'll need to vent immediately.

When I was younger I found that destroying something was my panacea to anger. Anything from punching a hole in my door... or something more practical such as ripping my towel with my teeth...

Nowadays I just need to bite the hell out of something, or punch the ground. That's usually how I deal with rage.

Frustration is alot easier to vent... I usually just take it out on my body and run an extra two miles. I try to vent my feelings into something constructive... I try

this...

But instead of running i go to the playground and start some angry ball (ball for football) kicking...or i play basketball, if no one's around i just angrily throw the ball at the board (specially if i'm angry to the point of shaking)...

Also if i'm angry for days, going to a football match and yelling my guts out is always good.

I'll remember to make you angry if you ever come to my house XD

Hm, I rarely get really angry... sometimes I cry, because I get so frustrated. Very, very rare though.

I get pissed easily, but then I easily get over it.

I have a friend who cleans when he's drunk. It's not so bad really. At least your constructive.

And there is always something that needs to be washed around! laugh

I do some cleaning sometimes, mostly kitchen, or go and take a walk.
