Hi, I was wondering if you read manga do you bother reading the mangaka's freetalks if there's any?
I do, and I love reading their free talks. It gives the readers a chance to glimpse in to the life of mangakas, right?
But sometimes, in scanlation, they do not scanlate the free talks.

I do. It's fun, and very cute.
I especially loved the freetalks of yoshihara yuki with her drunk tales, and cat adventures.
It's a shame when the translators don't bother translating those...

I read them when they are interesting, but as a scanlator, I know how hard it is to translate Author Talks since not all of them are that "readable" and most have a messy and sloppy handwriting. In short: It's a pain to translate them. So don't be surprised when scanlators don't edit them.

I don't. .__. And as a scanlator, I'd prefer not to edit it because it's a pain to translate.

Yeah. They're generally fun to read and sometimes provide some background info on characters. The only notable ones I've read were Watsuki Nobuhiro's freetalk in Rurouni Kenshin and the Oda's SBS Q&A sessions in One Piece.
