Series. One shots are fun to read when bored but series get more time to develop characters and the setting while the plot is much deeper.

It really depends. There are some series that are good as series and would fail as oneshots. There are also oneshots that could never become series. I've read tons of oneshots just for little bits of amusement, and knowing that I won't be sucked in too long while I'm reading.

I am going to go with oneshots... though I don't actually read many oneshots. Some of my favorite mangas are collections of one-shots which have a common thread running though them. They don't have a chance to develop any complicated story which leaves the mangaka more free to leave them very ambiguous and open-ended which allows you to draw your own conclusions.

I find it much more admirable when in any medium someone can get across a point/emotion/thought in a few words/images and force the recipient to think and draw there own conclusions.

series. endings make me sad and oneshots all end in like 50 pages. if its a pilot chapter, its ok, but sometimes i skip the pilot chapter altogether

I prefer to read one-shots since they take less time and there's no need to wait for another chapter to come out. I've come across a few that could have become more, but they were few and far between.

In general, I like a long series. If it keeps me entertained, then I don't mind how long the series goes on; and I don't like saying goodbye to characters.

For yaoi, oneshot volumes are common, although I prefer oneshots that tie together. Direct series are more rare, but if it has plot, it wins.

I like horror oneshots, too.

i like both.
oneshots are good for dramatic, tragedy stories while series are good for a developing story.so i cant really choose.
but i like series a bit more because we get to know the characters more.

Well the reason for one shots is if they get a good audience then they make it into a series

Series. I love good ones.
I learned that most Oneshots were forgetable.... I have difficulty to recall oneshot manga.
As they used for passing time, they didn't have much development in the story.

I've only been reading Oneshots recently.
They're like concentrated shots of life, love, lust, hate, revenge, and the passage of time in 80 pages or less.

And the art's usually better.

I love reading both oneshots and series. Though I voted for series because you get more character development and interesting plots. biggrin

Both, there are great one-shots and great seris, and the other way around.
