Okay, so the beef I have with Pocky is that in my opinion, it is pricey for the amount and quality of the said product you purchase. So here is a poll: do you really think Pocky is worth it? Now I don't want any spontaneous answers here. Really think about.
This comes as a shock to me as most Japanese products I purchase are top quality products, and even though they are pricey, you do get what you pay for. They don't f around when making something. oh and remember, this is relative to other products that are in the same price range, so do not take it out of that context.

Over priced, but it tastes good.

In all practicality as a snack it doesn't make sense to eat sticks dipped in chocolate for a couple of bucks when it isn't too much to have even FOR a snack. (Run-on sentence I know)
But that goes the same for any snack that actually has similar qualities to this. A novelty snack if you would. But like any other novelty snacks, your paying for it more BECAUSE it's a novelty, rather than actually having for it as real comfort food.
Same thing goes with the Asian carbonated drinks that have glass balls in them. From where I'm from, you'd have to pay about 4-5 dollars for a drink that's not even refrigerated (usually anyways) and for less than 500mL. Doesn't that sound just as wrong too?
Either way, I buy Pocky occasionally not because I like to eat them as apposed to how I eat them. I usually play with it but chewing and pulling the rest of the Pocky in without using my finger. Or I nibble on it like a chipmunk if I feel like it. ('Cause I'm weird like that when it comes to Pocky)
TL;DR - It's cause it's fun and delicious to eat.

i get them a dollar a box. buuut if i go to my aunt's store, i get them free!! so yes, they are worth whatever "it" is.
edit: i don't mooch off my aunt though. i buy them. still, a dollar's not too much. i'd rather buy a dollar of pocky at my aunt's store than a snickers/twix bar from a dude at school saving money for a new base in his car for the same amount. and my aunt's store is a minute away from my front door. half a minute if i jog. very worth it.

Interesting point, NightFox. And that's probably why I would not buy it because, I don't see the novelty in it like most people who do.

Erm, don't know... I think it's overpriced, around $3 from where I shop, if I remember correctly. But it's fun to eat, no? I prefer Yan Yan though... you dip it yourself, and they have weird messages~~~ lol (and they're less than a dollar too!)
Pocky has chocobanana flavor though >__< way too much temptation not to buy that...

i get the normal flavours (strawberry, chocolate or milk) for about 85cents or dollar depending on the shops where i am( the train tickets for the trip to the shop cost more than the pocky >.> ) , while the mousse, dessert ones and giant version are pricey but they're still worth it since they're fun to eat while doing homework or at school

Hmmmm I guess I think it's worth it as an occasional snack, but not to buy regularly - but then, that's how I feel about most "junk food". The plain choco kind are pretty cheap, but I like the dark choco & reverse better, and they're more expensive. Either way, I just don't buy it very often, even though it's yummy.

I think they're really good so to me it's worth it (I like melon flavor but it's hard to come by). Also it's not overpriced where I buy it (only a dollar). I guess it depends on preference. If I don't like it then any price is overpriced. I guess there's the novelty factor too. I mean what's with Pocky for Men?
Hmm...I really did think about this. Never spent so much time thinking about Pocky.

Yep! It's a biscuit/cookie/whatever-you-call-it with chocolate filling. Yummy~~
Maybe it's discontinued, though?? It's probably been over a year since I bought it, since only one store around here carries it.
