I was working at a cafe when a woman came up and demanded tea since she didn't like the coffee. I explained that I couldn't give her a free product just because she personally disliked the coffee, so she demanded to speak to my manager. I left to get the manager and WHILE I WAS GONE SHE HELPED HERSELF TO TEA AND FLAGRANTLY SAT DOWN AGAIN. I don't know whether it's a true Karen but I was shocked haha

I have had the misfortune of being accosted by one. Even when I was just simply existing. It's scaryyy

I was once accosted by one as I was attempting to become a Pokémon champion.

Funnily, in Mexico (and possibly the rest of Latin America), a “Karen” is a woman who owns cats, and the male equivalent is called a “Karen Macho” (male Karen).

Heh........well, after looking it up to see what the heck we're talking about (yes, I do lead a sheltered life) of course I've been accosted by one. The world's full of 'em, how could you ever avoid them? 😀

I've been accosted by one and can only assume that being robbed at gunpoint is more pleasant.

it's awkward if your name is Karen and you're a really nice person

I've had two experiences with Karens. One was more up close and personal than the other.
The 1st time my friend and I were watching fireworks. Now they were obscured by trees since they were so far away from the hill we were on. So we and a bunch of other people decided to get closer. Then some Karen was yelling at 80 to 100 people to move out of the way because she and her housewife friends were sitting there first despite the fact that she was trying to order a group of 90ish people to move as if she had any authority over us whatsoever.
The 2nd time was when I was trying to cross the street. When you live in an area with old crosswalks, you know that it takes forever for them to give you the walk signal, so I was pushing it multiple times out of boredom and a futile desire to make it go faster. So I was minding my own business when this Karen shouts at me to stop because she thought I was going to break it. Luckily the walk sign came on so I just walked away, depriving her of her excuse to bitch and whine at a complete stranger. Can't remember if she screamed "don't you ignore me!" while I walked away but the machine clearly did not break, thus proving her wrong.

This poll is... well, no comment. You can come up with much better and less offensive ones, as you've proven before.

I think many people have encountered Karens but don't realize it, because they think too much about the media/internet (racist) definition of a Karen. Karens are not just White women. They come in every race, color and ethnicity. Being a Karen is about an acute sense of entitlement and that's more closely linked to socioeconomic status than race. My sister works in customer service and she's met White, Black, Asian, Latina, and Middle Eastern Karens.
According to her, they all felt that an employee is basically beneath them and should do whatever they are told in order to cater to the Karen's whim or wish. What they all had in common was being middle or upper middle class. She told me that you can tell a Karen by their expensive handbag and sometimes cosmetic surgery. So, it's not the stereotypical "White suburban soccer mom with a hip, asymmetrical bob haircut" in every case. Think attitude, not necessarily skin color.
