(2 posts, 882 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by barbapapa in Recruitment
check the site: http://www.kefi.org for more info and a link to a test
basically I need an editor to do what I used to do (which wasn't very much), but don't have the time for anymore

The Situation of Manga Hosting
(122 posts, 17381 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by barbapapa in News
Scanlations just became TOO visible through all those online readers. They're reaping what they sew.
If scanlations are just made IRC only, no one'll notice they'll still be around; and the people that have half a brain will still get to read their manga.

I wouldn't worry too much; a lot of authors take long breaks to prepare a new serialization.

Yabuki Kentaro, wasting his talents
(8 posts, 4790 views) Posted: over 13 years ago by barbapapa in Mayoi Neko Overrun!
imo his only talent IS drawing tits and ass, so I'd say he's doing what he's meant to
Black Cat wasn't a bad read, but only if you were willing to ignore a LOT of flaws and downright plagiarizing.

I'd like to see something new by him as well. Double Arts had its flaws, but what Jump manga doesn't?

MangaScreener and KEFI looking for EDITOR(S)

I'm currently working on 2 translation projects of my own. I used to be an editor myself (and I still am occasionally), and as much as I'd like to just do it all myself; it's rather counter-productive for my translating.

Hunter x Hunter is more amazing than ever.
All this crackpot shit is just unseen in a shounen manga.

This is a very funny series; I hope you find a good group that can support you. If I wasn't so swamped in other things, I'd offer my help.

Hayao Miyazaki's "Ponya"
(28 posts, 4314 views) Posted: over 14 years ago by barbapapa in Chatter Box
It's very good. More of a children's movie, like Totoro, but it's not as good as that one.
Anyway, yeah.

x-chat aqua
it isn't really supported anymore, as in no one's continuing development
but it's a very good irc client, I haven't had any complaints about it in the 3 years I've been using it

and I'm pretty indifferent to it.
I like doing it, but I don't find many colleagues with my taste, and it's hardly a solo hobby

Best art for Shounen/Seinen- Mangaka/Manga
(40 posts, 13308 views) Posted: over 15 years ago by barbapapa in Shounen/Seinen
I like art with character and playfulness.
Masahito Soda
Syuho Sato
Kubonouchi Eisaku
Minoru Furuya for his facial expressions
and lastly Masakazu Katsura because I like a well drawn female as much as the next guy, and he's clearly the best of the best

Top 3 Ghibli Movies?
(81 posts, 8265 views) Posted: over 15 years ago by barbapapa in Chatter Box
Mononoke Hime
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Tonari no Totoro
A very honorable mention goes to Omoide Poro-poro. Like someone said before in this topic, an underrated gem by that other Ghibli director. ;-)

Are you a picky reader?

I also tend to stay away from stuff that looks too "polished", art-wise.
