Hello... I just bought a Macbook and found out that mIRC doesn't work on Macs. What IRC client should I use to download manga on a Macintosh?
I've heard of Snak and Ircle, but I'm not sure if they are user-friendly. I want a client that's really similar to mIRC because that's the only one I know how to operate. And I only know the basics of mIRC.

x-chat aqua
it isn't really supported anymore, as in no one's continuing development
but it's a very good irc client, I haven't had any complaints about it in the 3 years I've been using it

Chatzilla is designed to run on most platforms that support Mozilla, so Macs should be okay.
Another notable one for Mac users is DMDirc.
There's also the web-based ones like Mibbit, but I've not used them before.

Chatzilla sounds good, but Firefox addons seem to slow my web browsing.
Do all these clients work very similar to mIRC?

Not exactly, they all have their quirks and idiosyncrasies.... Chatzilla and X-chat should be the closest, though.
Sorry I can't be more helpful, since I hardly boot into OSX unless I need Corel or Adobe compatibility (I'm mainly Linux)... and I can't give an honest comparison to mIRC since I haven't seriously used Windows since 1998/99. You'll have to wait for someone else to respond, I'm afraid.
Many Mac users seem to like Colloquy, though.

No worries, thanks for your suggestions all the same. Now I'm considering X-chat, it looks 'friendly' enough.

In my opinion the best one is Colloquy, it is really user friendly. And if you have any other problems with your mac you can always ask me, i'm maybe not a pro but i have already some experience.
ps. Good luck with your new MB
