what is popular to the masses( not just a few)
it'll sell, plain and simple and the pubs know this and they want to stay on the safe side-- its why most of the japan market is untouched over here

it would prolly be yaoi which i was intro'd to by BL, since me being a product of US licenses i grew on shounen and the rare shoujo, though this was partly due to the fact that i read online too it just popped up one day and i was real curios after that, well... ive rea...

weeell... i started out a lot of few years back watching DB/Z, Kenshin, Pokemon and other 'cartoons' on toonami and cartoon network before i knew that they were dubbed and not american made that led me to my local library(for manga)

and tada here i am today a rabid fan...

hentai
harem (not reverse)
yuri/shoujo-ai (ive tried... and failed )
loli/shota (generally)
ecchi ( if its really bad and theres no plot affixed)
mecha ( i have yet to actually read one that i like ...
