Looking for a manga where the protagonist is an ugly girl. I want her to be actually ugly. I don't want her to turn into a beauty when she removes her nerd glasses, or for her to be pretty but thinks she's ugly, or for her to be pretty but everyone else thinks she's ugly....

this might be a hard request but I'm looking for any manga in which one of the main characters appear later on in the manga. this new character can be in the form of a friend or a love interest it doesn't matter.

paradise kiss was great! i loved the ending it was realistic.
ofc try her other works like
tenshi nanka ja nai
gokinjo monogatari
and there are other artists who are good with the whole realistic outlook on romance and life. i'm not sure if you're looking for similar romance ...
