I know Tenjou Tenge was pretty popular at the time, but like Air Gear at the time, I never really gotten into the series. I'll admit Oh! Great has mad art skills but he lacks when it comes to story and action, personally.

A good battle manga (NO FLASH)

I usually get turn off by most battle mangas, mainly because most battle manga rely on flash and explosions. I don't mind cool or over the top fights, but I can't stand flashy fights. So in other words:

Tokkaten I will love to read. I been a huge fan of Kengo Hanazawa's works, Boys on the Run ,Ressentiment and I Am a Hero. He really knows how to tell a very harsh, very awkward, bizarre and yet heart touching stories.

Nichijou will be on the top 10 in my list. Even though the anime didn't sell to well in Japan, mainly because of the 2011 earthquake and the series didn't really scream to hardcore Otakus nor Moe fans, I still say Nichijou is an enjoyable series.

I think one mangaka that comes in mind is Hirohiko Araki. His first manga he ever made is "Mashounen BT". His art style in the past was passable at most. I'm surprise his art style improve GREATLY over the years.
