I really like Kore wa Koi no Hanashi! The synopsis may turn a lot of people off initially, but I assure you it is not a tainted story; those people are definitely missing out. I recommend reading at least the first 2-3 chapters to get a feel for it.

I chose these two mangas as my favorites because a) there's not much drama and winy bullies going after the guy (talk about a big annoying shoujo cliche btw!) and b) of their simplicity

Utsumi from Kore wa Koi no Hanashi hands down. He has the most maturity and self-control that I've probably ever seen from a shoujo guy.
Also, you can't go wrong with Seiji Matsunaga from Love So Life

Acid Town,it's such a good manga. It's actually characterized as shounen-ai, but that should definitely not stop you from reading it. It's set in a corrupt city where "gangster/yakuza" politics are everyday occurrences.
