The first part of the mythos is a radio play none of us heard and only this manga´s loose adaptation Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (9/10) is known outside of japan which is unfortunate as anyone should have time for Mamoru Oshii´s writing. His The Red Spectacles form 1987 ties in here and is surprisingly a black comedy and the other life action movies are not worth a word. This completely shonen demographic inappropriate short as a very dark, impersonal and downright nihilistic tale of a world that Orwell himself could have come up with.
Especially the plane high jacking plot in this episodic procedural is even more relevant today and the as of now untranslated tales were all good too. The art is realistic and the definition of "un-flashy".
I would have liked a longer volume count and more of a real narrative but sequels exist and need a translation too as i can´t even find raws. Oshii´s other 80s brainchild Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor is a nice counter program and should further be unleashed on the masses and RideBack turns into a modern version of the themes found here and it is only fully translated in the way shorter anime form as of now. I reviewed both btw.
