VERY GOOD

i was surprise that the author of this made Angel Densetsu, just by the drawing i didnt recgonize it but then i compare them and you can see his improvements. story starts off real good. always some action never any boredom at all. you have to pay attention to know whats going on. if you skip a chapter you might as well go walk around in a dark tunnel because you'll be lost, thats how fast things happen. i have nothing bad to say about this manga at all. ITS THE TRUTHHHHHHH

CLAYMORE is GREAT!!!!

I agree with most people here... This CLAYMORE is just one of the GREATEST manga i ever read. There are many characters and their history along with the story line itself. I first know of CLAYMORE was though the anime review on animenewsnetwork, and guess what i got hook right from the review. Then i went to look for already released episode, later on i caught up to the manga. I finished 13 volume in 1 night!!!! Completely hook and could not get my eyes off it. I am right now at the lastest chapter and can't wait for the next one come out which may take another month.

Any manga fan out there, trust me, CLAYMORE is a MUST READ and WATCH... you won't be disappointed or rather than that you may completed addict to it ;)

Finally, a Good Fantasy Manga

This and Berserk are probably the only good fantasy manga around right now. At first this might seem like Berserk with a girl that can transform into a monster, but further along you discover a lot about the past of the Claymores and are drawn into a great fantasy tale. My one complaint is that this is probably too dark to be in Shounen Jump but other than that this is a great series that I recommend to fans of the shounen genre

The way shounen should be.

This is possibly the best shounen action manga I've read -- it borders on seinen because of the depth the series gains as it progresses. The characters are simply amazing. Each one of the Claymores is a unique warrior with a complex history. Part of the pleasure of reading this manga is discovering the stories behind the different Claymores. They aren't treated like women usually are by shounen and shoujo manga -- they're purer, in the sense that they're people, not mere gendered stereotypes. The women in this manga are real women -- well, except for the super powers, but you get what I'm saying. They are honestly and perfectly characterized, with neither their strength nor their vulnerability being exaggerated.

Not all of the Claymores are the noble warriors you may expect to meet after reading the first few chapters. Some of them are noble, sure, but some of them are indifferent, and others are malicious. Like any other group of human beings, they have flaws and the ability to overcome those flaws. What's rewarding is watching the flawed characters come to grips with their pasts and their mistakes, and try to improve themselves. It's a very universal and moving struggle. The Claymores' fight to retain their humanity isn't unlike the internal moral battles we non-manga people go through.

I totally agree with Laclongquan's review earlier. The manga's world opens up and grows more absorbing as you read it -- what seems at first to be a typical shounen plot gains incredible complexity without losing any of its coherency. Politics, power, ethics and of course personal angst are all brought to bear brilliantly. The mangaka has really done something amazing with what starts out as a simple monster-hunting concept.

My sincere thanks to the groups that are scanslating this manga for us. You guys rock.

I really love this manga! The monsters are cool and the transformation to an awakened being is just awsome! I love the shounen characters (the cute ones)!
Right now I'm still courious what happened to Raki, Claire awakened form, and tons of questions in my mind... every chapter in this manga is just wonderfull... I think everybody who love fantasy art would consider this manga is to die for! O YEAH!

I've heard of this manga long before i started reading it. When i looked it up here in MU, it was the highest rated manga and so I was a bit unsure whether to read it or not since people tend to rate it either a 10 or a 7 depending if they liked it. When i started reading it, I just couldn't stop! excellent character development, storyline, and art. Better than Berserk in my opinion!

Great Manga

This manga is excellent. It starts off slow and then gets increasingly faster paced with an expanding of the world from the 4th volume with the intro of Teresa.
One must rejoice at the quality of the story telling and the drawing, compared to the author's previous work. Although it has flaws in terms of unapproached angles we must agree that it's a powerful work by a mangaka with relatively little experience.
I advise anyone and everyone to read it

alright, I take the blame. got sucked in good. art is on par with the story and fighting. it is just the right mix. further more, I found the mix of unnatural just the right amount. visual kind I mean. characters are well developed. had me confused for a while as they got lead in the story, but got under my skin soon. you get to feel for them. that is also the case with some of the villains actually. main characters arent almighty. you feel they are on a thin thread as the story progresses. sometimes the thread breaks.
what I am trying to say is that I dont really find anything wrong with Claymore. except an awesome storyline from now on. depending on what happens and how twisted it becomes, I will gladly give it a 10. for now, 9 it is.
