The story is a direct sequel to Lessa (aka Season 1). I've read up to chapter 13 and so far, imo, the plot is as captivating as season 1's. Some differences: The humor has gotten better, though each chapter feels shorter than season 1's. There is one more female character kicking butt. Thankfully, still no blatant fanservice (I can get that anywhere else).

So far it has interesting and varied content and I have no problem with its execution. It has good action, punchy humor in appropriate places, and a fairly unpredictable (but still easily coherent) plot; overall I'd say it's a solid read. It does, however, have one small caveat: if you haven't read the prequel then you'll probably have no idea what's going on. The prequel's good; not as good as this, but still a decent read and easy to enjoy.

I was hesitant to start the second season because I found the first season boring. This 2nd season is a HUGE improvement, but it still didn't keep me hanging for more. I kept checking to see how many chapters were left. By chapter ~70 I let the series sit for a while and now I figure I'm just never going to finish it.

However, I can see why there are a lot of fans. I really like the premise, but I just never felt really close to the story or characters.

I can keep rereading this series and it never gets old!

All the characters in this are so well thought out and 3 dimensional.
