There are two different kingdoms.
Princes of the first kingdom:
1. Ryuuen
2. Renge
3. ?
4. Rien
5. Yuuri
6. Kagetsu
7. Shuki
Princes of the second kingdom:
1. Ohga
2. Mizuchi
3. Homura
4. Ryuga
5. ?

Straight up, this series is a soap opera. Complete with lots of unnecessary drama, cheesy dialogue, and instant romances. However, if that's what you're looking for, it's a good time!
Thank you gwengwel, I'm glad I read your comment before I started reading. I added my own idea that Rien (4th Prince) died his hair black and cut it to freshen up his look. Possibly for the war to look more scary. Aside from this mix up, the manga is really good read. If you haven't read the 2 prequels, please do so, you will not regret it. I hope we see more of these couples.
You're not sure you understand who is Rien. Don't worry , you're not the only one.
In Ousama Game trad by DokiDoki Rien was named Ryura. That happen. Different interpretation of Kanji. And in Ousama, Rien had extremely long blond hair....not short black hair.
Why I am sure that they are the same? Because in the two manga they are the 4th prince.
Add to that that the cook on Ousama is the chief cook (it's mentionned only at the end of Kaizoku) and that Kougyoku is the only cook mentionned in this manga...

I think that the mangaka didn' reread her work before drawing this manga.
