I have no problems with a manga adaption taking the same basic elements as a novel and doing its own thing with it. They're two different mediums so taking a different approach can often pay off. That is not the case here. While not amazing this starts out solidly (if routinely) enough but as it goes on the main character gains knowledge and powers with absolutely no explanation. At some point (around chapter fifty) the narrative largely breaks down entirely with each chapter feeling like a stand alone issue that might, if you're lucky, tie back into the previous one. I would strongly suggest not wasting your time. Even if you read bad manga just to wallow in familiar tropes you will be disappointed as it uses but skims over them.

There is really no point in reading this. To keep certain features the author of this one has made the story super-jumpy and random. Truly not worthy of the name. I truly wanted to give this a chance, but no! It's not worth it!

The gender swap was okay for me at least.

Its really so much worse. they change the tone, the story, and characters a lot and usually for the worse. bebe becomes a cute mascot character, grandpa becomes a young woman instead and linley's transformation looks so bad. Just read the novel its been translated up to the second main part which is like 400 manga chapters ahead. -- Added 7/5 Also demonic's scans/translations are a bit off. It's NOT crouching, dragon the 'Coiling dragon' refers to the Azure Dragon looks like a giant blue Shen Long (from DBZ). The Coiling dragon ring and (later statues) show long snake like dragons with no legs they cant crouch they coil.

.... Seriously Ive never read an adapted piece of work that is so bad. Like previous commenters mentioned, artist changed plot, character, EVERYTHING!

The novel gives off an epic awe-inspiring vibe but the manga makes the story look pathetic and cheap! Please dont read it!!
