Description
Kim Jee-Ha comes from a good background with decent grades and test results; however, he has one big flaw - when it comes to official events like university interviews for example, he is horrible. To overcome his social awkwardness, he embarks upon the virtual reality game Trikia where he meets an eccentric high level undead Nine - his future guild master.
The Dusk Howler webtoon is in second place in Comic Book Resources' "10 Best Sci-Fi Manhwa For Fans Of Manga" (September 18, 2020).

This manhwa was created by author Taeseon, author Seong Sangyeong (who is the author of the manhwa "The Gamer" (2013) and Taeseon's husband) and artist Crew.
Until 2014, Seong Sangyeong was a popular writer, and Taeseon was a little-known writer. Seong Sangyeong became interested in Taeseon through her manhwa "[리메이크] 신룡의 주인" (Korean: "The owner of the divine dragon: Remake", 2012, discontinued) and he promised her that he would teach her how to create popular manhwas based on her novels, so in 2014 they started releasing the manhwa "Dusk Howler" based on Taeseon's novel "Dusk Howler" (2009–2010).
On November 29, 2014, Taeseon married Seong Sangyeong.
The cover of the manhwa "Dusk Howler" does not include Seong Sangyeong's name because he wanted his wife to get all the glory, not him. But in chapter №51 in the manhwa "Dusk Howler", Taeseon admitted to readers that her husband is also working on this manhwa.
Also while working on the manhwa "Dusk Howler" (from July 2014 to July 2016), Taeseon wrote the web novel "Dusk Howler 2" (xianxia, from November 2015 to November 2016). Less...

I really like this manhwa and I'm really sorry that it ended too soon. The original novel consists of about 12 volumes, but the manhwa showed only events from the first and second volumes and the beginning of the third volume of the novel. In addition, the manhwa is missing some important moments from the opening chapters of the novel. And if you read only the manhwa, you will be left with many unanswered questions after reading it. Most likely, Taesun created this manhwa just to increase sales of her novel of the same name.
Okay?

Can't believe it end just like that. I dunno what to say, the art were so beautiful, I really loved all the characters, especially mori (damn he's hawt!). I dunno where the story are going as it only told about how sociophobic became a gamer. There's too many mysteries are unsolved and story untold. Like the plot keep changing. It's a good read tho. For me all of this fall into mid-range, like all of it are neutral. I'm a fujoshi tho, really hoped for it to be shonen-ai (forgive my sinful self).
Very meh but okay enough to waste to on

This manwha has very weak attempts to emotionally charge the story. The MC ridiculously wants to not kill anyone - neither players nor NPCs. Moreover, the mangaka wants the audience to relate and sympathize with the NPCs. It comes off as awkward and silly because the MC is going through quests that other players have previously already done before with the same exact NPCs. It would've been better to place this in a fantasy game-like setting with real deaths for this type of theme.
On the bright side, there are tons of bishies.

wide-eyed innocent noob gets caught up with a high level dark pk guild, which at least makes it somewhat different from the other vrmmorpg series. has some pretty funny moments so far and you can't help but feel bad for the poor mc kid.
on another note, from all the different lt novels/ webtoons/web novels i've seen that focus on vrmmorpgs i get the feeling that in korea and china PKing happens a lot more than it does in the u.s. and its more socially acceptable.
i wonder if thats actually true, or if its just that those are the only stories being translated.
