Description
Civil engineering student and reknowned bridge otaku Youichi helps a swan stuck on the scaffolding for a bridge under construction, only to be visited that night by Miwa, a beautiful woman claiming to be the same swan Youichi rescued. Miwa stays with Youichi in order to pay back her debt, but he is, understandably, less than convinced that she is what she says she is. But, Youichi not being one to look a gift swan in the beak, or more importantly not one to leave a woman in need hanging, things soon develop in the way you might imagine.

The Spirit of Japanese Folk Tales Made Contemporary

A gentle, bittersweet tale of three young people on their way to adulthood. The swan teaches them all a little something about following their hearts and allowing their emotions to be uncensored.
The art is crisp and simple, sometimes beautiful and idealized, other times, a little more cartoony. This short tale has a lovely variety of art and setting. The flow is natural and easy to comprehend.
Personally, I didn't give it 10/10 because it was too short to develop the main character enough for my taste. It was very much a "pivotal, brief moment in time" and the main romance doesn't truly have a HEA. Nothing wrong with its poetry; I simply prefer tales with more connection.

that was a really good manga...it's very under-appreciated because so few ppl have read it...certainly belongs to josei manga...it's an excellent title for female young adults but i'm a guy and I really enjoyed it...
very powerful in it's simplicity both art-wise and story-wise (as far as emotions and feelings go)...one part of it is a bit poetic or sounds more like a fairytale (swan turning into a woman)...apart from that it's very realistic...
at first i thought i saw a bit of myself in the main character (youichi) but then i realised that i had so much in common with yuuma....ppl might think someone like him is a bad person but in reality he's frustrated and confused more than anything else
the characterization is excellent and the art is elegant and stylish with just a few lines....miwa-san looks gorgeous....the mangaka seems like a very sensitive person and can convey emotion and feelings through her work because this manga really touched me...the characters didn't seem like caricatures but they felt very much like how normal ppl would in real life...it reminded me of some parts of my life...loved this
huge props to J-Sis for scanning this..

This was a super bittersweet story. So sweet, but sad, but sweet... the pace and tone were perfect for the plot, and the art is super pretty, with lots of white space and long, curving lines that reminded me of the swan that forms the center of the story. (Speaking of, and referring to the comment by pnyxtr, - the art is more on the josei side than the shoujo side, as it tends towards simplicity rather than fussiness.)
Good, so very good

KODAMA Yuki is amazing.
The concept is similar to fairy tales from across ages, but the mangaka does a wonderful job of retelling it.

Shoujo? Josei?

Hmm, I can't decide. On one hand, it's pretty grown-up for a shoujo. On the other, it has furigana and ran in Flowers, so it shouldn't be josei.
Oh well, classifications are often useless anyway. It's a good manga no matter what you call it.
