From CMX:
Schoolgirl Makishima Misaki's life is about to get a lot more complicated! She has inherited the house that belonged to her maternal grandfather, in a small, quiet, snowy town that boasts its own local legend, the Hohopo.
Moving into the house with her klutzy widower father, she soon makes new friends — including one very unusual friend: the Hohopo itself, a shape-shifting creature who looks like a small Loch Ness Monster...when he's not masquerading as the boy next door!

Interesting protagonist, underdeveloped supporting characters

It started off interesting enough, in a snow village that reminded me of Kanon. There were some interesting bits in the later parts, but nothing remarkable. (The underdeveloped subplots about gold and criminal organizations should have been left out, and the author should have focused on the main story around Neo.) Still the feeling was warm, and its not a bad read if you have free time. But don't expect it to be the best manga you've ever read.
It's Disney meets Manga!

This is probably my first encounter with a manga having Disney like drawing style, from character design, to surroundings. Even the plot is classic E.T. style, with a couple of kids trying to protect some mysterious being from evil goons. I think it's enjoyable for those liking Disney stuff, although those who are accustomed to regular manga would find it lacking.
It's good.

It's the only Yuji Iwahara manga I can tolerate.
