Came for the political intrigue, but stayed for the fluffy, fashionable characters

The author definitely got the big picture down when it comes to the plot, but I don't think he/she has the skills to pull off the juicy dialogues that make the individual arcs exciting. Instead, this story feels more like an outline, not very fleshed out. Plot seemed forced, and arc resolutions appeared out of thin air deus ex machina style. The storytelling skills were just not there. I was not impressed with the script writing and character nuances...The first 6 chapters were pretty bad, but things pickup and get deeper plot-wise after that. Overall, I still binged it all in one go. Still would recommend if you are into the 2nd chance/isekai trope, but there are definitely better stories out there.

On the bright side, the art is so pretty and I'm in love with all the close attention paid to each characters' fashion choices. I think I am obsessed with the MC's dresses. The character designs are also so pretty. Everyone looks fire~! I also like how the MC develops throughout the series. I don't think she ever annoyed me!

Super childish

The story was interesting at first, but after the male lead returned from the war, it became extremely childish and filled with unnecessary fan service. There was a Halloween party, popularity contest, and even a whole chapter about them opening up a boutique and the male lead (an emperor-to-be) working as a waiter. All of these fillers just detract from the main story. Instead it's like they're in a school setting when they're supposed to be running a kingdom. I heard someone describe the characters and dialogue akin to Barbie dolls, and I wholeheartedly agree.

There's no denying that the art is beautiful but the dialogue...oof. It definitely needs some work. I'm not as engaged as I would be with some of the other mangas that I've been reading. It's very flat? IDK how to explain it. The dialogue seems so 1D...simple.

I am a big fan of isekai mangas/manhwas so when I saw this, I knew I had to read it. Unfortunately, my excitement stopped there.

Art: pretty but I've seen better. I feel the characters all have 1 stoic, uninterested look when they're not required to show obvious emotion. Although the use of colour is good, the lack in detail is what puts me off.

Characters: the characters are likable but a bit boring and predictable. The main issue with the story is our MC. She's lacking in intelligence and spunk even though she's reincarnated and should now be a woman in her 30s but doesn't act like one (for example, bringing up the topic IN FRONT of Cesar's knight and his brother Noah's servant about Noah asking to share a room when they were young SMH!). She's also naive. She tends to think that she can manipulate the story to the original plot even though she's changed the main events. After chapter 39, I've gotten tired of her bringing up the topic of divorce everytime she sees her husband, without properly consulting with him. As a main character, she's lacking in so many areas. I just pity Cesar. He's a typical unfavoured prince but is suddenly favoured due to his achievements in a war. He's also quiet and has a problem communicating with Canaria/MC about things that bother him which leads to misunderstandings. The MC being careless in her actions and words that cause rumours doesn't help much either.

Plot: predictable! Modern woman in her 20s dies and reincarnates as the story's villain at the age of 12. This type of storyline has been recycled many times but if done right can become a good read. This one falls short witth the slow pace of the story and somewhat uninteresting characters.

I suggest reading these similar reincarnation themed mangas: Lady baby, Suddenly became a princess one day, I am a child of this house, Sincerely, I becsme the duke's maid, The duchess' 50 tea recipes, Doctor Elise. There are many others but I can't name them all.

Overall, I couldn't read past chapter 39. It's definitely one where I may come back to it if I'm bored.

Good read if you like reincarnated villainess genre

Is it original? No, not at all.
Have I thoroughly enjoyed it? Absolutely!

Read it if you need your reincarnated villainess fix. MC would make Bakarina proud.

Added bonus: art style is really pretty. Wouldn't say it's got a lot of technical or layout finesse, but the faces and outfits are 10/10

Update: got bored with this series and dropped. It's gone on way too long.

I lost interest after

Canaria and Caesar finally are a thing. I don't need the political fallout bs afterward

In all fairness, it takes a lot to make me like a romance (unless it's got other stuff going for it) so I guess that's something.

The story here is something I've seen several times already and sometimes done better so it's just ok. The precarious position she has to balance while being in the middle of a power struggle between the prince and the empress could have been interesting but it has not been exploited at any length.

I like thou that most characters act as befitting their standing, you won't see petty noble women bullying the MC in the middle of a party here, characters are consistent and realistic for the most part which is a big plus, also, dialogues are good too, another usual weak point. For the most part, the characters don't get much development and have received little attention, the previous heroine and the main lead get some to an extent but not much for the genre, it mainly focuses on the MC and I can't say I like the MC, she has knowledge of the story yet squanders it by thinking that the world is set on stone and does not lift her head to see what happens around her. She's not particularly intelligent yet is no idiot either, has a somewhat weak personality, except for a few times she also lacks decisiveness and is the kind to act oblivious even after the other confesses to her, also, she's a hypocrite
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
she dislikes the Lancaster heroine because in the novel she married the prince when she didn't love him yet she is married to the prince not out of love and she has done quite an effort to have the prince fall for her while she doesn't hold any interest for him, leading to a one sided love at the time she makes that statement

Other than that, the art is quite good and other than the possible friendship with the Lancaster girl the relations of the characters are rather boring or lacking, the romance likewise weak imo (mostly due to the MC's dullness) and other relations are not really developed. Also, there is little comedy, which I like, it takes itself seriously.

Overall, it's a somewhat good take on the transmigrated into a novel series, not the best and certainly not the worse, if you like the genre give it a try.

Ok I’ve kind of been on a roll—I’ve read so many “reborn as the villainess in a novel” stories recently (there’s so many??) and I love this one, it’s just too cute. I love the male lead, he’s just too adorable (he’s a blusher hehe!) And I’m a sucker for dense female leads so if you like that highly recommended. Art is excellent as well.

TROPE SUBVERSION FOR DAYS. Though it certainly wasn't a requirement or expectation I had going in, it just made me love the story all the more- it's well written, and definitely genre aware in it's writing, and oof the characters are all wonderful. The MC really shines TvT

Excellent

I've been on a reincarnation into fantasy world binge lately and have been gobbling up every romance story I can find with the troupe. So naturally I didn't make it 4 words into the summary before bookmarking it.

Verdict: It's excellent, read it.

The main character is the stand out of this one. After bingeing so many similar stories, it's hard for characters to stand out to me. The main character Canaria is clever and lovable without going too far into Mary Sue territory. She's neither incompetent or overly-talented, a very normal girl. Which makes her weirdly compelling.

I've noticed that the Korean stories in this genre tend to have clever and mature mcs that actually act their mental age, while the Japanese stories all have super cutesy mcs that have the maturity of children. I'll mark this up to cultural differences. But one thing they have in common, the main character's complete obliviousness to the love interest's affections. A troupe Canaria sadly isn't excluded from.
