From chapter 1-5 I felt like the story was rolling down a hill, the characters were lovable yes, especially the main character, Akira, yet the relationship between him and Souichi was questionable at best. They started out as strangers with an obvious dislike in their air from the botched first impressions, then step-brothers turned "lovers". Souichi's personality was as rotten as an orange that had been out for too long and stinks up your house like a disgusting skunk... and that's not a good analogy but you get what I mean. I'll be damned when Souichi did these elaborate things to tease Akira and honestly the trope of innocent, kind MC with flirty, mean love interest is sort of overdone.

But even with my criticism about their questionable relationship, I absolutely adore them. Chapter 6-7 absolutely broke me, I love how the conflict blossomed and the Mangaka did a wonderful job on expressing their facial emotions. The ending was rushed, yes, but due to the lack of popularity, the story has to be concluded as fast as possible, so I don't think it was the Mangaka's fault.The way that Souichi broke down and the face that Akira made when Souichi revealed that he doesn't like him even a tiny bit broke me, I loved his expression. Souichi is still a jerk though, that still doesn't change my opinion.

Overall, this was a cute manga with a decent happy ending.
