I love the whole Mainichi Seiten series. I read all the volumes in the Japanese version in one day. The stories are such a joy to read, and everyone has their own quirky personality.
The best part of the series is the relationships. There are far too many BL relationships where the couple falls in love based on appearances and then later realizes they don't really know their partner leading to ridiculous misunderstandings, trust issues, the list goes on... In Mainichi Seiten, these relationships are portrayed as ones that could have happened in reality. They get to know each other before, spend time together, and then they realize that they need the other person to keep on going. It's all beautifully done.
This particular story is my favorite out of the Mayumi x Yuta series. You can see just how closely attuned they are, and Yuta's back story is moving. And Mayumi has really grown! Gone is that little boy that was the baby of the family.
My only nitpicky issue is the fact that I prefer Aki-chan's story more than Mayumi x Yuta and couldn't bring myself to rate this story higher than I rated Hanaya no Nikai de, simply because I can relate to Aki-chan a lot more >.< Read through the whole series from start to finish. It'll give you a lot more background as to what's happening and you won't be disappointed. One of the better shounen-ai I've ever read.

.. by the story and hardships that the characters have to struggle through to get to where they are now. I still think the presentation is a little messy (and rather old school for now) though, but I guess I've grown rather used to it. After all, this marked the 7th (!) volume of the series; you get used to its flaws and fundamental issues after awhile.
On a side note, I adore that little story about Bauss, or Jii-chan, the Obinata household's dog, at the end of volume 2. I always have a weak spot for animal stories, but this one was another level of adorable and heartwarming, I love it so much! Bauss is just the cutest thing!
