This series is so absurd and the characters are so crazy/depressed/sometimes-high that the only thing you can do is laught like a crazy about their personal dull dramas. At the same time is a serious, hard and depressing series about a group of young guys so repressed by their society that, in their attempts to take themselves off the hole, they only get in it deeper and deeper.
Some people have critiziced that this series has a strange mix of comedy and drama, but I really believe that's the point of it all. A very direct and loud critic to the very complicated and self-destroying hikkikomori problem, but in a very ironic, cynical and funny way...
If only the artist could be better...

Interesting take on the emerging genre of otaku-based main characters in manga and anime, NHK seems stuck between whether it wants to be a drama or a comedy.

While combinations of both come off well in many cases, NHK's characters are so exaggerated and ridiculed that, as the manga starts to become more serious, it becomes hard to empathise with them. This isn't to say that the drama is bad, but that it often comes off awkwardly. This is doubly true when it tries to add humour to a dramatic situation, or vice-versa.

Very hard to rate, but taken as a whole it's a good read. If it was licensed I'd definately be buying it.

the main guy of this story and I have very much in common

I think its one of the best mangas ever!!! (after zombie powder/bleach, gantz and naruto of course) I just laugh a lot reading it and also i feel so simphatized with The main character too!!! READ IT !!! RECOMMENDED!!!

One of the funniest manga I've read in a while.

Only read until book 2, the main character seems like me so I am very sympathatic about him but the topic is to close to heart so I don't really dare to read this. Sorry,sorry, back to my comments.

Can try. Sometimes funny. Sometimes overboard. AARGGH! Read it yourself. Don't know if to recommend or not!
