It's finally completely translated, which I'm very thankful for. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by how cute and touching this was. Although I do have a few complaints:
1. The romanace is underdeveloped. The love interest has no reason to love main girl. She's cute and shy = instant love, fated person? She never does anything for him in the story, and barely tolerates his presence for 90% of it.
2. Side characters have sudden 180 personality shifts, or disappear completely and several side plots are dropped or treated too lightly. Eg. Main girl's attempted suicide, main guy's grieving family etc.
3. It's not true gender bender. Main guy doesn't become main girl, he just possess her as a spirit while she's still in control. If I knew that, I wouldn't have read it. Because 99% of spirit possession stories have unsatisfactory endings to me. It's not healthy to have your only friend/lover be a ghost, but it always depresses me to say goodbye at the end. And if the possession is permanent, questions about free will and the creepiness of the situation are ignored, and it feels like author's too cowardly to give it a sad ending. There's no winning.
There's a few more complaints, but most of it can be excused by it being a comedy. And it was a very good comedy. I laughed out loud several times, and the managaka did an excellent job creating a charismatic and lovable main guy. Plus, it's really rare to have a bisexual main character, and I like that the mangaka didn't play it down. It's very clear that main guy loved his best friend, and if he couldn't be the one for him, he'd watch over him until he found true love with someone else. And how can anyone hate that? Totally recommend.

It's too bad the scanlation is progressing slowly, the story so far is very lighthearted and fun to read.
The way the body changing is handled in this manga is pretty unique, it's different from the others.

This is such an awesome manga! I LOVE it! The main character (one of the best friends) is funny, outgoing, and likable which makes you want more. Also this manga is just hilarious. xD I was rolling as I read it! But I do have to say I didn't completely like the art at first because I thought it was done kind of lazyly, but as I read on I got used to it and loved it as the story progressed. There should actually be a shounen-ai tag added because even though it's subtle, it's still an underlying theme kind of in the story and its obviously there.

The plot of the manga is about the boy dying protecting his friend(shounen-ai-ish right there) and taking over the girl's body to become his best friend's ideal girl(am I the only one who seriously kept thinking "shounen-ai" when I read this part of the story?) Also they both kiss in the first chapter, even if it's as a joke, and also the protagonist thinks about his friend pretty much 24/7 so yeah there's definately shounen-ai. Okay I hope I've made my point now. lol!
It's either that or a super close friendship. Or both. But anyway READ THIS MANGA! It's a rare type of theme/story and it's well done! You must login to comment for this series! Register an account.
