Genre shift not done in a good way

This is not one of these stories that benefit from increasing the stakes... or the way it progressed was just too weird... It would be better if they went all out in the comedy for those "serious scenes", so that it will seem less wacky and out of tune. The "serious parts" in this story is not handled properly.

Has a lot of weird decisions.

But the beginning is stellar and a breeze to read.

I would give the storyline 10/10 but then a 7/10 because by the time we reached the near end where they married and the author decided to make Gui give birth to his child, it probably gave everyone the "What the fudge?" moment. Other than that, the story is pretty good.

The beginning was good, but then it started to go off the rails a bit when they
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
went around the game performing concerts.
But the author managed to pull it together for what seemed like the end
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
with the dictator of life. But then they brought all of that mess into the real world and it just kept getting worse. No matter the justification it was gross when Zhuo and the main character's daughter got together.
It felt like the author wrote several spin-offs or sequels and included them in the main story despite no relevance to the plot.

lol why y'all mad about male pregnancy, there are other factors to worry about

everyone's getting really put off with the ending choice of
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the dude gui giving birth to little xiao lan instead of prince (the girl)
. Why is that so weird? Why must women be the ones to suffer the pains of child birth--especially if it's in a futuristic word setting where human biology doesn't actually apply😕 For a man to be willing to suffer through the process because the woman doesn't want to--- now that is the ultimate declaration of his devotion to her. Isn't it kind of misogynistic to make it the girl's job even in situations where it doesn't have to be? If she doesn't want to have something growing inside her for 10 months and completely screwing with her physical and mental well being, she shouldn't have to. If the guy wants to do it instead, he's got a couple screws loose but i give him mad props. The man's got humongous balls, respect!

That aside, this series is really hilarious! It was one of my favorites growing up, and I'm cackling at all of your drastic reactions to that sub plot point. To be fair, the quality of the manhua started decreasing even before that pregnancy plot, and I was starting to get bored about 2/3 way through the series... Nonetheless, I highly recommend this. It's a classic if you think of it all as a parody and don't take anything too seriously.

EDIT: upon rereading, here are some downsides to beware of though:
- the comic features homophobia as the norm even though two notable characters can be assumed to be pansexual. Romance between two men was portrayed as disgusting.
- this series turned male sexual assault victims into a comedy sketch.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I didn't like how no one knew physical boundaries and always pounced on Prince because wow a hottie lets rape him

- the story doesn't portray romance convincingly, and I didn't ship any of the characters together because it was all so ridiculous.
- a forced marriage with weird pedophilia occurs towards the end; And it's a 35 year old being pressured to marry a 15 year old child. Yes, the 35 year old was forced into the situation. All manners of wtf.
- certain characters end up nothing more than manservants for the MC. It feels vaguely like slavery....
- i got the vibe that the author was trying to be feminist but ended up coming off as a man-hater. Men suffered all the abuse for the sake of "it's funny." Feminism means equal opportunities for both men and women, not treating men like crap because "it's time for revenge" or something. I appreciate the female empowerment in this manhua but less misandry would make the series more palatable.

Slight Spoilers

It took an entire day. I would've finished it faster but hot damn it was bad for majority of the series. I liked the characters and the comedy was a hit or miss same with the action but it wasn't completely awful. Than the final fight scene happened and my score went from 5 to 6 because it was actually fun and i enjoyed it. But the series overall was still a lot worse than i expected for something so high fucking rated. But what really pushed me over the edge is when the FMC Impregnated her husband. What the actual fuck.... I'm fucking done with this series. But no only 10 chapters left only 2 volumes i can do this. AAAAAAAnd a 15 year old balckmails a 38 year old to marry him and there lovey dovey now.

There are alot of series i hate. Fetishistic NTR pornwhas and rape fantasy.

But they aren't as bad as this series.

So I really liked the first part of the manhwa, and everybodies mad about
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
how Gui decided to birth the child rather than Prince
at the end of it. But, I have a different issue.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The other guy that likes her(Prince) ends up with her daughter.

Wtf.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I know they said that since they live for a long time that the age gap doesn’t really matter to them, but
that’s too fcking weird!

I’m honestly fine with the other thing everyone was talking about, I even found it funny, but why is nobody pointing this out?! Like,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
when he said yes,
I threw my phone across the room!

Other then that, I really liked this manhwa. But, I’m knocking off points cause of that weird part.

Hilarious fun

The first 10 volumes or so hooked me and I couldn't stop reading because it was just such fun - fast-paced, plenty of action and chock full of humor (plus a sprinkle of romance that looked promising). There are all the best elements of MMORPGs that anyone who's had any experience playing would recognize and Xiao Lan/Prince is a great heroine - legitimately kick-butt and easy to root for. Even the love interests were interesting, albeit underdeveloped; they all held their own appeal.

Unfortunately, I felt like the author dropped the ball a bit in the final ~3-4 volumes. The best part was the actual RPG action, but the last arc leeched all of this out of the story and at that stage it was pretty obvious that I had been waiting and waiting for character & relationship development that would never come. Worse, the entire thing rushed to a haphazard finish out of nowhere - it offered decent closure on all of the characters' lives, but wasn't as satisfying as it could've been because there was nil build-up. Still worth a read for the first two thirds of the story, anyway; it was fun! Just don't expect actual growth.

This one was pretty mediocre, I like VR stories but this one is among the worse of em, main char has no charm, the being a male in VR while female in real life setting is... mundane, uninteresting and hard to care about it, the chars are plain and shallow with all the bishi business (and I hate Gui) also, the only moment I really thought the story was getting interesting is with all the NPCs yet it soon had a turn for the worse leading to a pretty lame ending arc and a terrible ending. Lastly, the romance was terrible.

It's different from your usual shoujo

I just started picking this up (and finished it in two days), and I think that the manhwa is awesome. Being a Shoujo manhwa, unsurprisingly the elements lean heavily towards romance (two hot guys after one girl), but a ton of humour (crack?) and plot elements are included too. I like how it's different from the usual shoujo manga/manhwa though. From the very beginning, it's been established that while the protagonist is biologically a girl, she's been trying to become more masculine, initially because she wanted to prove her bro wrong but later because she found out she may have some tendencies towards violence (or more like she just like the thrill of the kill in game). Her two potential love interests, Gui and Wicked, are polar opposites. Wicked is just like any other male lead in a manga with seeing the female lead being the fairer sex and deserving of protection, but Gui is barely concerned about gender and sees Feng Lan as Prince, letting her take the lead and protecting her if necessary without getting in her way. We end up with a manhwa with gender reversed roles. Feng Lan is the dominant one in the relationship, while Gui is the submissive one. This may be a rather uncomfortable read for those used to dominant guys and submissive girls type of stories, but this manhwa is good in the sense that it's been consistent since the beginning. Gui has always been acting effeminate towards Prince since the start. It's not like Gui suddenly turned submissive only in the last chapter.

In the meantime, about the part so many people seem to be irked about...
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I sense that it's the idea of "male pregnancy" and that "it is impossible" that is putting people off. It's always fun to read reviewers' comments whenever they go batshit at mpreg tags.
Setting aside the fact that mpreg IS impossible (as are a lot of kinks on the internet), I recall from the start, Feng Lan's bro has been teasing her about hating pain and that being a female char in game allows her to hide behind her male tanks and avoid taking damage. This then becomes consistent with what hubby Gui said towards the end of the manhwa, when he reminded his wife that she may want a child, but she hates pain - giving birth. Gui has made it clear that he fell in love with Feng Lan/Prince, even without knowing whether this person was a male or a female, and that it didn't matter. From there, it doesn't seem that he had a fixed impression of her needing to behave a certain way just because she turned out to be female. Towards the end, him being willing to go through the worst kind of pain (on her behalf) may be his own love declaration in itself (even if the method will irk many readers). I wouldn't say that the sudden mpreg plot twist is bad or good. It's just different. It's true that the author could have given warning about it first though. Not everyone can stomach the idea of it because we already have a fixed notion of how guys and girls should act.

As with others...

As with other reviewers, I really liked this one at first. I would've given it a 10/10 in a heartbeat and was calling it my favorite manga (manhua?) at the time. I loved the gender-bender and love-triangles and everything... until it went downhill fast.
Updates were slow at first, but I put up with them. My sister couldn't wait and found the novel and told me what was to come.
NOTE: I haven't read past what was supposed to be the final battle at the time and after this is just what my sis read in the novel and not what I know to be in the manga/manhua.
I didn't like that the story left the game. That was the whole premise and while I would've been okay with them interacting outside of game the whole story was in game and I believe tanked when it was purely outside of the game. I HATED her making her husband be pregnant for her. I got past her ending up with the guy I was rooting against but what Prince of Pain, Blood Elf, and highly respected leader of the game makes her husband give birth for her? That... just... hurt...
The only reason this gets a 2 is because of my earlier devotion. It went so downhill I won't give it anything above a 2 now. I regret reading it and wish I could erase it from my mind if I could make sure I wouldn't make the same mistake twice.
