The good: The art and some of the women are gorgeous, easily one of the greatest manga in Japan in this regard. The writing is ok, and some of the characters are pretty inspired.
The bad: The artist is mostly focusing on disgusting gross-out moments, rather than beauty and cheesecake, which is his greater strength, and this is so gratuitious that it detracts rather than adds to the quality. The story is incredibly slow and frequently off track.

I really enjoy this manga..even tho recently there has been alot of reading which gets frustrating sometimes, but its good. I think the plot is pretty good but its not like omg amazing lol. Character designs are really good (i am a aya fan), fight scenes are pretty awesome soon. I just hope it picks up soon. I also hope they continue the anime for Tenjou Tenge! rating 8/10

Big sidestorys... 'bout 2-4 vol. like jumpin' back in history.. kinda sucks..
after vol. 12 it starts getting complicated and ya gotta read ya ass off like you do in Death Note.

There's not much of a plot though, it's just random fighting and certain characters revealing hidden powers / leveling up along the way.

It's a good manga though for the action manga fans. Try it.

People are saying that there are Mangaka who's art it better then Oh Great but I don't see any names listed. Facts are that he is one of the best manga artists. Although the story is not amazing, it's not that bad.

oh great proves once again that despite his above-average drawing skills, he completely lacks the ability to develop a coherent and interesting plot, or develop enjoyable characters. i guess good art is counts for something though, since apparently his stuff is selling well enough that he hasn't bothered to team up with a storywriter. fighting scenes are drawn decently, though after a while, flashy poses just aren't all that impressive anymore.

This use to be one of my favorites now after that long history lesson i feel that it has lost its luster.

Despise all the ecchiness shown in the manga, it also pretty explicit in the fights, AYA! <3 madoka!

I consistently see people saying this manga has a bad storyline? Did we read the same thing? O_o

For me this manga has such a large stretching plot, with a timeline going back thousands of years. People keep saying its only about fanservice? Sorry, if that was true, the characters wouldn't have such a detailed back stories, and neither would the plot. If you only read the first half, it seems like this manga is only about the election tournament and beating Mitsuomi. But if you bother to read further, you realise thats only the tip of the iceberg.

Summary - don't judge a book by its cover. This is no Ikkitousen (which I also love), there is more to it than fanservice.
